March 2, 2016 Totem Card of the Day – Horse

card 20 Horse 1122
Well the Horse shares some insights with us all and asks what we are going to do when the barn door gets thrown open? Horse speaks to ALL the “STUFF” that we have locked away and don’t want to deal with!  Do we think that it will all just go away, or that it will somehow disappear without any kind of impact? Well we locked it up and hid it for a reason right? The reason is we don’t want to deal with truths… we feed the fears and negatives in hopes that somehow at some point it will work itself out without us not having to do doing anything about it.  Don’t be ashamed of it, we all do it at some point… why ? Because we are Human!

However if you want to move ahead in your life being free to experience and feel all the magic of it and positives in it… we must deal with TRUTHS of everything, good bad and indifferent. It won’t kill us, it will simply help us to bring about balance again to our own Sacred Hoops. So no matter if it is something you did, didn’t do… felt, didn’t feel whatever it is… DEAL WITH IT AND MOVE FORWARD! Go ahead and open that barn door and let it OUT! You will feel better with it all after dealing with it head on and releasing it.

Horse brings with it the joy of wide open spaces and the ability to move freely about. It shares that it is time to open the barn doors and venture out into the world to experience what the Universe is offering for all of us if we are willing to open to it in positive ways. They help to guide us swiftly and sure footed to the next part of the path we are to reach.

However in doing so Horse also shares that the herd is important. The ones that are within our Sacred Hoop…family…friends… that they are there to assist us as we move forward and not stay in the old ways, with things that need to be let loose. Mend fences and move forward with everything, but truly mend them do not just go through the motions, for if you don’t take the time needed you will loose the positives that are part of that same Sacred Hoop.

Horse tells us to awaken our souls and honor our true self, our true dreams and aspirations. Feel the wind, feel the earth beneath you, feel the sun share its warmth and energy, feel the water as it nourishes and cleanses. Allow your senses to be in a place of all that is Sacred.

March 1, 2016 Totem Card of the Day – Praying Mantis

card 37 Praying Mantis 1122
The Praying Mantis boldly yells, “SLOW DOWN!!!! Take a breathe and relax so that the positives that are meant to be on your paths are visible to you and can be utilized!” We need to slow our pace in order to honor the spiritual, All that is Sacred. To be grateful for what we have…and release the greed that drives the wants. When we begin to walk in balance with the world, the wants and desires will be attracted to our own Hoops in a healthy manner!

But we first need to respect the process of being. We are but one small piece of a universal puzzle. There is no easy button, no magic wand to make dreams come true. There is only the relationship we have with life itself, and in order to manifest those dreams and desires… we must first honor ourselves and the process in order to invite into our lives those very positives. If you seem to have too many negatives in your life, then look into the mirror and see what we are reflecting outward. If what you see is not what is desired…than work on upgrading the image.

Praying Mantis shares that we have gotten lost in the daily activity and chaos of our own lives. That we have forgotten to listen to our own voice. With that said it is time to take a step back and breathe in the 7 Sacred breathes. Reground, replenish what we have given away to this moment. Possibly do some simple meditation to recenter ourselves and remember our true self, our true path.

Take a moment and breathe, look at all that is Sacred around us. the beauty of even the simplest thing or thought. Time to contemplate before stepping back into life. By doing this you will rekindle the purpose and meaning that are needed at this time. Praying Mantis teaches us to return to the core of who we are born as. To step on our path with thoughtful placement of how we will imprint ourselves into the world around us. To carefully consider how we will move forward in positives and be prepared to step quickly and decisively when we need to.

It is time to listen to our intuition, do not push it away it has guided you through your life sometimes without us realizing. Trust what you are sensing, what you are feeling and move or stand accordingly to that inner voice.

“I am Dedicated to Educating and sharing the Native culture with the World. It is not enough merely to teach the ways of our Elders. We must honor those traditions by sharing and educating the World. Inspiring others …Inspiring our Youth. Through the Music… the Arts…the stories…”

February 29, 2016 Totem Card of the Day – Koi sharing Neither Here or There … a Day of Magical Illusion

card 17 koi 1122
Today that extra day that only typically comes around every four years in order to set the balance right!   Added to keep the calendar year synchronized with the astronomical or seasonal years as they occur.  So what does that mean to us as we walk the Human?  Well let’s just make our mind up that today is all about having that extra crunch time to set our Sacred Hoops on the right track, to bring about balance to our worlds! Leap Day! From a numerological stand point, the number 29 breaks down to 11 (2+9), which is looked upon in many new age spiritual communities as being a number of awakening and spiritual enlightenment.

The day itself Koi shares is to be a day of a deeper way of thinking, looking into one’s soul to open it to receive what is needed to mend, balance or strengthen our Sacred Hoops. It’s a day to manifest success for the upcoming year! It’s that extra bit-o-magic to set things right in your world! To look at truths without the Illusions that humans and life often put there. Free falling Wisdom’s of the Ancestors being shared if we take a step and open ourselves to hearing them.

We often sit asking the meanings of this or that, or why we are at the exact point we are standing in… and we often being human do not want to hear the answers in order to move forward. Why? Well often we are scared of the answers we may receive back, we sit in harsh judgment of others and more often than not…ourselves. Let it go! Release it … this day…mend Your Hoops and bring balance again. Stop playing the blame game and Wow what a concept…take responsibility for You and your part in the things that you can’t let go! Whether it is a past relationship or a grudge, a fear or a corner you have boxed yourself into and do not want to admit you helped get yourself there… LET IT GO… We are all sharing the same day of Neither Here or There… the day of Magical Illusions! So make the most of it and take out the Illusion and add some Life to your world!

The Koi fish brings to us prosperity and a path for new opportunities to show themselves to us. It is up to each of us to be open and aware in order to take advantage of them. Koi can assist us during meditation and altered states of mind in order to help us achieve healing and our full potentials by opening to the wisdom’s of “the Old Ones.” The colors can also be associated with various aspects and applied to our lives if we can again be open to what they share.

The black Koi brings transition into our lives.

The gold Koi brings prosperity which can represent the physical, the spiritual or represent monetary wealth that is being brought to our paths.

The platinum Koi brings to our lives success and puts new and beneficial opportunities at our doors.

White Koi that have red coloring only on their heads push us to be aware of positive movement within our lives and enables us to take advantage of them.

A white and red marked Koi is said be a blessing for well balanced relationships.

The Koi teach us to remember to honor all that is Sacred, to meditate and pray… to be thankful for all our many blessings large and small. To understand that our actions today will imprint for lifetimes just as it has for our Ancestor’s. So walk your paths wisely and ask for assistance from our Ancestor’s often.

Beyond the Veil by Chris Ferree and available at http://www.chrisferree.com and I tunes

Chicken Fingers, Cheesy Rice and Tomato Tortellini Soup…

Ms Rosa

As most people know, February is Black History Month, and as I awoke this morning I heard a sweet soft and familiar voice in my head, so I agreed and I will once again share our story.

As some of you may or may not know I worked at Children’s Hospital of Detroit, MI for many years. The best job ever…the worst job ever. But all in all it was an amazing place to work in filled with even more amazing people that will forever hold special places in my memories and heart. I mainly worked the afternoon shift, and that is when I met one of those people that will always be first and foremost one of the most gentle and sweet people I have ever met.

I worked mainly in the ICU and Hemoc units of the hospital and usually took my breaks for dinner around 5:00 p.m. since all the cafeterias would close by 7:00 p.m. in the evenings. We had a choice of which hospital to eat at because they were connected through a grouping of underground tunnels. The Detroit Medical Center is sort of massive and you truly get exercise working there. Sometimes I would go to dinner and sit with my co-workers, other times I would head off later due to what was going on in the unit so would catch them as they were returning winding up eating by myself. I mostly brought my own food from home that I prepared before heading into work and mainly sitting in the cafeteria to give myself a break, use the microwave and basically just chill for 45 minutes. This was one of those days I was eating by myself.

Sitting at a table in Receiving Hospital I looked up and saw an Elder struggling with her food tray, so I immediately got up to assist her. She smiled and thanked me. She was so tiny in stature but made up for it with the twinkling light in her eyes. I asked her if she would like to sit with me and she quickly agreed. I put her tray down and we began to talk with each other, when the microwave beeped I excused myself to go and grab my food and when I returned, she says mmmmhmmm that looks delicious. I asked her if she would like to share some with me for I had plenty and she nodded yes. I said nothing special just chicken fingers, cheesy rice and tomato tortellini soup. She told me it looked like a feast, we both laughed.

She introduced herself as Ms. Rosa and I introduced myself. She asked me of my medicine pouch that I always had hanging around my neck, told me it looked like something the “injuns” wore down home. I laughed and said probably right explaining in the process its meaning. She looked up at me and said hmmm, I like that. She was 82 years young she told me…and I was a young one she said at 34 years old. We smiled often and laughed a lot. And when I asked her if she wanted me to cook her something special she said I like just what we had and so began a ritual we would have every week.

A few months went by as we got to know each other better, mostly talking of gardening, and of family, she asked to see the pictures of my daughter. We spoke of life good and the ugly side of it, we spoke of the old neighborhoods which I grew up in and still lived in, times when neighbors depended on each other and treated each other as family… and sometimes just sitting with each other in the perfect silence of our company. Once she said to me,” Remember the good things but never forget the bad… for it makes us stronger and better people.’ I agreed and just remember my heart felt so much love for this little tiny Elder that shared a meal here and there with me. I was grateful for the time, grateful for her friendship.

One particular afternoon we were sitting having our usual dinner together when one of my co-workers walked up with a goofy look on her face. She said “Hi” and I said hello back and introduced her to Ms. Rosa invited her to sit with us. She was all nervous and giggly and said no she had to head back and would catch me later. We continued our break and gave each other a hug and off we went back to our jobs… Ms. Rosa doing her volunteering and me to my unit.

Soon my co-worker came to find me and was all excited again. “Girl do you know who that was?” To which I replied that of course I did it was Ms. Rosa and we ate dinner together often why? She laughed and gave me that look again, she said, “It sure is Ms. Rosa…it’s Ms. Rosa Parks… the Rosa Parks.” The knowledge of her last name did not change my opinion of her, it did not make me feel more or less love for her… for she was an amazing Human being no matter of the history. See, you never know who you may run into, share a meal with, a seat, space or words with. Learn to appreciate every moment, for they imprint on us good, bad and indifferent.

To this day I treasure the memory of the meals of Chicken Fingers, Cheesy Rice and Tomato Tortellini Soup shared with an Elder Ms. Rosa because she is part of the people that walk with me and molded me into who I am today.

February 24, 2016 Totem Card of the Day – 3 Card Pull!

3 card pull totems
So today “Spirit” says lets shake it up a bit by sharing 3 cards with everyone, and then lets see if they listen or not.

The first card that drops is intertwined with our Spiritual needs and is the Eagle!  Today is all about taking care of the spiritual side of things that we all may be neglecting because we are so caught up in the world around us.  The Eagle soars close to Creator and brings us the message to not only take time… but to MAKE time to feed our spiritual self.  We all need to remember this is important to our health and balance.   It is not merely enough to talk the talk, we must ALL walk the walk.   Stay strong within our own Sacred Hoops by remembering to honor ourselves and all things Sacred!

Squirrel stops in to chatter in my ears today to tell us to tend to our Own needs and houses.  Stop looking at everyone else’s and clean up our own messes!  Set our own lives to order is the task that Squirrel is reminding us to do as he parades past us with the Eagle!  Gather the tools and wisdom you need to get that task done and then move forward in positives, leaving the clutter and negatives behind you to filter through the compost pile to be birthed to positives at another time.  Squirrel reminds us… Release, Recycle, Renew!

Then the Bear steps up to remind us we need to rest, to allow our souls to do all of the above and more! Honor those directions! Honor all that is Sacred! Learn to walk on our paths and enjoy life as it was meant to be enjoyed. Look at even the smallest joys, miracles… for they are all part of the great world we live in. Take time to appreciate what we already have, rather than plundering what we truly don’t need at the moment. All in it’s perfect time, with Faith and patience the Bear reminds us we have got this walk on this good road we are living.

card 32 Eagle 1122
Eagle speaks to us of our spiritual paths. I have been taught that the Eagle can fly to the heavens, that its wings can be touched by God Creator. When in it’s presence I feel the Grace of the Creator and All that is Sacred. The Eagle humbles me.

Teaching us to reflect and pause, to rejoice and reconnect to our spirits. To honor our paths, the ethics we have been taught. To Pray, to honor to live in a sacred manner. To listen to our Ancestors that have walked before us and in doing so listen to the wisdoms that have been shared so that we can walk more positive paths. Eagles the symbol of Courage and strength, to do … to walk… the right manner. To take that courage and step into what you re meant to step to in a positive way, and allowing our spirits to soar to the heights to share in God Creator’s extended grace.

Eagles with their sharp eyesight take us to the heights to observe situations in a manner that is more beneficial for us to make clear decisions. To become that visionary and push ourselves to discover and accept self, to accept truths, adapting , changing and growing along the way. The medicine Eagle shares is, the ability to connect to the Divine, a power of God Creator. Being able to place one foot into the spirit realm and yet remain connected and balanced with Mother Earth. So Honor your Spirit today and everyday by connecting with the Sacredness around you!

card 43 Squirrel 1122
Squirrel reminds us today of one major lesson and that is to remember always that “We reap what we have sown.” No matter how hard sometimes we try to forget our part in something, a relationship that has hit a bump in the road or a job issue that you are struggling at, or something positive like many blessings showing up at your door, the outcomes always have an imprint from us as it traveled around and back to us. Why we ask? The Squirrel replies, “Because we are all related!”

It also tells us to prepare for change, for if we are working hard to achieve something it will undoubtedly involve change of some kind, and often we forget that part and are caught unprepared. Squirrel also reminds us that through the changes things that no longer serve us, people that no longer are on the same path as us may get lost from us on the way. But we need to remember that they all had purpose and honor whatever lesson or purpose that may have been, and discard any of them including worries, stress and thoughts as you walk forward. Squirrel teaches us that we need to be resourceful at times in order to manifest what we need. Don’t attempt to do to many things at once, rather try and keep a healthy balance between work and play it helps our mental states stay healthy.

Make sure we are paying attention to opportunity that may present itself, share and play nice with others, but to remember in doing so to not forget to take care of ourselves in that process. So break out of your shell today and take care of what you need to , whether that is play or work… but always with a positive breath!

card 24 bear 1122
Bear is all about fertility (creative and manifestation), instinct, protection and solitude. Those that walk with Bear are often somewhat reclusive requiring a great deal of personal space to renew and create. Bear people will often “disconnect” for awhile as they pursue projects becoming deeply involved in what they are working on. Deeply protective and territorial, Bear also is extremely loyal and dependable. Bear teaches us when healing of any sort is needed to use that time for introspective work in order to grow Spiritually, Emotionally, Mentally and find answers to problems within yourself. Travel deep into your soul find the purpose in your own path and journey and walk ahead in positive steps.

Bear shares with us that in this time hibernation is not only good but needed, yet respect our natural hibernation cycle and remember to reawaken in the spring, in doing so awaken the potential within ourselves and the power of our unconscious mind. Bear teaches us there is a time for playfulness and a time to be assertive, and perhaps a time for both in balance.

February 23, 2016 Totem Card of the Day – Dragonfly

card 28 Dragonfly 1122
For many the energy about lately has been somewhat ‘trippy” and Dragonfly stops in this day to share what is up with it all! The simple fact is we are all tuning in to “Spirit” and the layers we put between the parallels, on a more regular basis. We each are like tuning forks and the frequency we each need to “tune” into is finally reaching our soul. We are receiving guidance that we can no longer dismiss, whether it is prayers that we put out to be answered or guidance that we silently seek as to what our next step should be on our paths…

The Dragonfly represents the link between All that is Sacred! so from this point forward… open your souls to feel, hear and understand the magical connections that we can have if we simply do not place limits on what is!

Dragonfly is all about transformation and adaptability. It is messenger of the in between, of here and there and everywhere at the same time. It is beyond time, before time. It is about darkness to light and back again. Dragonfly tells us that everything is in a cycle, so remember and allow more joy to fill your soul. To help you understand that all things are as they should be, and that life itself is magical beyond belief. For our souls do not hold form, and our human self just helps them to experience our earth walks before continuing to the next part of our journeys.

Dragonflies begin their lives in water and then as they grow they move into the air learning to fly. It teaches us to balance the present time and accept it so we may once again move forward, listening as Spirit shares with us all the secrets of here and beyond.

February 16, 2016 Totem Card of the Day – Blue Jay

Bluejay card 57

It’s time to be real and set our ego’s aside.  The WORLD OWES US NOTHING… WE ALL ARE NO BETTER THAN EACH OTHER….

There is no one single correct way to life. We are human and we all need to start acting like we are. We need to remember to be thoughtful, respectful, compassionate and yes understanding, even when it does not always line up to our way of thinking. Again the WORLD OWES US NOTHING… this is 2016 and yet history continues to repeat the cycles of Greed, Power, Domination, Destruction, Hate even within our own individual lives. It NEEDS TO STOP!

And Just How do we do that? One deed at a time, One thought at a time, One word at a time. It is easy to sit and point out that so and so is this or that, yet by doing so we often are a reflection of that same negative process. So if you are truly about walking the walk of “Spirituality” then set the ego to the curbs. Protect humanity…and teach others through example and they mimic like a Jay teaches us to do to make life better, not only for self… but for All that is Sacred. start to Mend the Great Sacred Hoop for everyone, for the next 7 Generations.

Jays can mimic other sounds; many people do not know this is how often they protect their families; they use their intelligence to sound like Hawks or other birds in order to deflect unwanted attention. So what they share with us is that sometimes there is a need to be bold…and sometimes it is about simply using our good communication skills in positives to get our point across.

The Jay teaches us we need to know our boundaries of when we are being to brash, to bold. So we must learn to use our voice in productive but respectful ways and not bully our way through things. Some days it may take courage to speak our minds, but in doing so we not only let our words take wings and be heard, but we allow our spirits to go free and grow into what we are supposed to be.

Jays will also help to show you how to protect yourself with communication and deflect when needed, but only when needed. They teach us also how to travel to and from the Spirit Realms easily without loosing ourselves within them. They teach us about our ego’s and arrogance, about not getting in others space and it being unwelcomed. For there is nothing more annoying than a Blue Jay sounding off and sassing someone in their own yards… so it reminds us keep ourselves in check, don’t get cocky, don’t get loud. Others have value as well, and sometimes it is within others that we learn what is needed at the moment to move forward in positives and sustain our own Sacred Hoops.

Please Feel free to share these and other posts from my site!  They are here as tools to teach us about mending the Hoop… and bringing balance to our lives!
