Spiritual and Totem Insights for the Day – Grandmother Spider

Today Grandmother Spider steps in, telling us all to be cognitive of what we weave in our lives … make sure that things are clear and with purpose towards the positives we need to keep our Sacred Hoops balanced. Make sure that the threads of connections to the people in our lives are healthy ones that reinforce good things, things that share love and joy, reinforcing and making our hoops stronger. Make sure to not reinforce the negatives of others and that of the world we live in. Seek ways to influence these things in positive manners in order to enable change for the better of self and others. Simply pointing out what is wrong and not providing options for improvement or repair, is not walking on a path that will lead the way for others to walk with integrity and for the highest good.

Spider teaches us about hard work, creativity and releasing ourselves from what binds us. They show us that we are the creators of our own life, our own Sacred Hoops and that like the Spider we too spin intricate webs in our life stories. So as the Spider is a masterful weaver of its web, we too must become masters of weaving strong paths in our own lives.

Spider also whispers to each of us to be careful not to get caught in the webs of shadow, greed, and negativity. When this occurs it is time to release and begin anew. Do not stay trapped, for you are in charge of your own reality, it is up to you to take charge and move in the right direction. That we must create our own path in life, and learn to be a part of the whole as we walk the human, for all things are connected, we are all one.

“The webs of our lives are all connected to the web of all that is,” Grandmother Spider shares with us, “Our individual webs are made up of stories, beliefs and our emotions that make their way out to the universe. Listen to the word “story” for to store within ourselves is a function of the story. If we believe the stories we tell ourselves our very core within our souls will vibrate in that belief and create your web from that vibration. The Universe will support our stories, just to prove to us that we are creators. So step wisely, spin positives, and create a strong Sacred Hoop”

So, the question today is simple, what have we decided to create? “Some human stories have served you,” Grandmother Spider shares, “and others have not. It is now time to clear your webs of those stories that have not. When you do so, you make space for new stories ones that will reflect your true nature, your soul’s light and your connection to all that is.

Spiritual and Totem Insights of the Day – Praying Mantis

Today the praying mantis shows itself to me and speaks of how Humanity has lost its way, but to take a breath and understand we can find it again if we will step into Integrity, Honor, Respect, Love and the Unconditional Acceptance of things and people that are different from us. It is time we set aside petty differences and come together within our similarities. We all have family and people we care about, that care about us. We all have things in our lives that matter to each of us. We ALL have stories to tell and share… stories that are good, bad, indifferent but that can teach each other lessons of acceptance, tolerance and how to stand together again as humans… in other words how to find our Humanity.

Praying Mantis shares that we have gotten lost in the daily activity and chaos of our own lives. That we have forgotten to listen to our own voice. With that said it is time to take a step back and breathe in the 7 Sacred breathes. Reground, replenish what we have given away to this moment. Possibly do some simple meditation to recenter ourselves and remember our true self, our true path. Take a moment and breathe, look at all that is Sacred around us. the beauty of even the simplest thing or thought. Time to contemplate before stepping back into life. By doing this you will rekindle the purpose and meaning that are needed at this time.

Praying Mantis teaches us to return to the core of who we are born as. To step on our path with thoughtful placement of how we will imprint ourselves into the world around us. To carefully consider how we will move forward in positives and be prepared to step quickly and decisively when we need to. It is time to listen to our intuition, do not push it away it has guided you through your life sometimes without us realizing. Trust what you are sensing, what you are feeling and move or stand accordingly to that inner voice.

Spiritual and Totem Insights for the Day December 13, 2016 the Clown Fish

Powerful message today relates to coexisting, something that we all as human struggle with each and every day! So why is it so difficult for some of us… well perhaps because EGO steps into place when it is not needed or called for. So many are stepping into roles of judging others, placing blame and pointing fingers, when seriously we all should be back in our own lives cleaning and straightening out our own homes. Time to clean our spiritual selves and bring them all back to balance! After all who are we to judge others? Who are we to say we are better than and they are less than? Who are we but human with our own faults, fears and insecurities? Perhaps that is why the Clown Fish and Anemone have shown up this morning…. to share with us the lessons of coexistence and working together for positives!

The Clown Fish and Anemone fish share their spiritual guidance with us to assist us in finding and understanding wisdom, knowledge and teachings that can will help us to overcome the challenges that we face in life. The Sea Anemone is known as the flower of the ocean, yet has deadly thorns, yet the Clown fish fearlessly takes refuge within her grasp. Bright and vibrant in appearance the Clown Fish is widely known for its bright orange/yellow coloration and bright white stripes. Together they are a formidable pair with the use of beauty as camouflage they teach us the ability to hide within dangerous situations and to move carefully through our lives.

They teach us that things can appear as one thing and be something totally different. Do not be quick to jump to assuming the worst and make sure to watch for hidden obstacles and dangers as you tread through a given situation. They assist us with keeping safe from negativity. None of us are danger proof. All of us are prone to encounter difficult situations that we should/could avoid. Sometimes it is better to move to a safe position than directly confronting something. It doesn’t show weakness, quite the opposite it shows strength of character and wisdom.

Pledge of Allegiance… Wow, so powerful stuff one would think yes?

american-flag-header-2

The Pledge of Allegiance
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Defined and explained in Dictionaries and Encyclopedia’s as;

The Pledge of Allegiance of the United States is an expression of allegiance to the Flag of the United States and the republic of the United States of America, originally composed by Colonel George Balch in 1887, later revised by Francis Bellamy in 1892 and formally adopted by Congress as the pledge in 1942.

The official name of The Pledge of Allegiance was adopted in 1945. The last change in language came on Flag Day 1954 when the words “under God” were added

Wow, so powerful stuff one would think yes? Well perhaps it was when it was originally written in 1892… or later when they changed the wording to the Flag of the United States… or even later as they added one nation under God in 1954… but today in 2016? Seriously how many children know it, can recite it…for that matter how many young adults can recite it or understand it? Myself I think that the forefathers of this country would become physically ill if they could have seen through a time machine to what devastation, racism, violence and hatred that has bred in this country … in our society since the days this was originally penned.

People spitting, setting fire to and desecrating the flag. The Republic for which it stands is looking more and more like a really bad reality show to other countries all over the world each and every moment as we parade out the political dirty laundry every second of every day. Cop Killers hiding behind the Constitution and their Civil Rights attempting to justify their violence. Bad Cops taking it out on people of Color and People of Color taking it out on ALL cops for the ones that are bad. People of race declaring they are better than, people of all color then setting out to prove they matter more than the other colors. Yet the one thing we forget is we are all related and the common factor that sets it all aside is we are all human… part of humanity, even though it is a Humanity that needs to be remembered and healed.

People in general are not taking responsibility for their own crap, their own lives. If you want change to occur stand up and move it in the right direction. If you live in a cycle, break the cycle. Ask for assistance if you can not do it on your own. Don’t voice that you can not …Voice that you Can and Will. There are people in the world that will and can help you; you just have to get your mind set to do it or to ask.

I know that life can truly suck at times, there is pain, there is despair, and there is poverty, violence, hatred, bullying and racism. But for all of that there is also something positive to balance it. There is Love, Humanity, Friendship and people who know how to look beyond the color of one’s skin.

Greed and Power have taken a mainstay over Love and Family…how is this possible, how is it that we have become a humanity that cares more about the next new phone that is available than the respect and strong foundations we should be providing our children our young people? Instead we have greed driving lawsuits, making everything a legal matter and placing it in a justice system that protects the guilty and sentences the victims.
All based on technicalities…

To me and many the systems are broken…so how do we go about repairing and healing it? One person at a time… by understanding everyone has different perspective… by opening our eyes and listening to the Creatures that have been her teaching lessons that fall on deaf ears… by embracing our “Humanity” again… by being Neighbors again… by learning respect again… by empowering our Children again… by learning to Love again….

I pray every second of every day, that I will believe that pledge that I worked so hard to learn as a child so long ago… I pray every second that others will also do the same and stand proud with me once again in a Nation that has so much potential if we would all work together instead of causing so much pain, so many rifts and fractures to each other as humans. Pledging allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, and that in doing so we are truly a strong nation with liberty and justice for all…

Accepting Change to Allow Healing

blessings and paryers

When I sit and look back on my life, I can recall the many things I used to be able to do with ease. Things like running, biking, sports and now even the simple task of what many may take for granted… walking.

During this past year many people in and around my life have experienced physical setbacks. You know the tough situations that change the way you may think or do things from that point forward. So I thought I would share a little insight from an old bear this day, in hopes of sending some healing thoughts that will enable some to change their outlooks on life to a more healing pathway. If not… consider them ramblings of an old bear.

Okay so I now take a step back into time for a second to when I was thirteen years old. Wow seems like ions ago, anyhow it was at this time that my bones began their cranky and pushy way of telling me to slow down. My joints were showing signs of weakness and arthritis, my knees were a knocking and my ankles would give out at any given time with a mind of their own. So off to the Ortho I went. So it began my intimate and up close relationship with the medical field. And if some of you are not aware, let me tell you that pain is not your friend. Matter of fact it has a way of messing with your mind and can alter the way other people view you as well.

By the time I was eighteen I had already had multiple knee surgeries on both knees and had eight of my front teeth knocked out. (As a side note my dentist could tell I had arthritis by looking at my teeth and my fingers. The reason he stated was his own daughter had it as well.) From there I went on to fracture my low spine, get rear ended by a car and severe whiplash which has dominated my cervical spine for life, an ankle broken clean through as I attempted to hop a fence…(lol yeah did that one when I was 32 years old…) and the list goes on and on. So needless to say my bones and body have taken a lifelong beating. Then add to that a heart attack in 2006.

Now I am not sharing this all with you to feel sorry for me, quite the opposite… I am sharing it to let you know that you can get through it, you can help yourself to heal. However in order to allow it to happen you have to be able to accept change. Change in the fact you perhaps can not do something in the manner you used to, change in the fact you realize that you are not weak but rather physically challenged. Challenged to figure out a way to approach your life differently. After all that is one of the greatest gifts we are born with, a mind, a thought process and it is up to us to use it to its fullest potential.

The greatest example of this for me, my personal wake up call was when I worked at Children’s Hospital of Detroit. Kids, they push through it no matter what it is they face challenges head on. They inspired me, they would tell me not to be sad for them… so when I see people that are physically struggling with disease, physicality’s I view them as warriors. I see the accomplishments they strive to attain, or have already attained as amazing. They are living their lives.

When I got thrown the curveball with my physical, I went through the process that most go through. Frustration, sadness, depression and ego, until the day I decided okay I need to start living again. So I started to adapt how I approached and did things I used to do. I became grateful for all I had done that I couldn’t do anymore, for I had gotten the chance to experience it, and realized that is what we are here for… to live life, good, bad and indifferent. The key is how we choose to live it… in Negatives or in Positives.

So yup in the real world I had to learn to ask for help when I need it, I got used to the ground up close and personal because ultimately it will and does happen, I fall. Yet when I do, I get up and start again. Maybe a little slower than I used to, but none the less… I do get back up. I no longer can do the work I once did in the corporate world, but I keep busy. I do the work the Creator wants me to do, that “Spirit” encourages me to do with the help from the Ancestors and those that have walked before me.

And most importantly I “Live” perhaps not like others…but we are all uniquely different for a reason. After all, wouldn’t life be boring if we were all the same?

Let us raise our intentions to our consciousness and voice by sending healing energies and prayer up this day…

I call to the sacred winds…to carry my words
To the Grandmothers and Grandfathers of the North, the south, the east, the west, Above …below and within…

I call to the sacred winds to carry my words to the Winged ones…the Four Leggeds…the Plant People…the Crystal Keepers, the Thunder Beings, the Angelic Realm…Mother Mary and Magdalene…my Brother Christ and all the nations that love us.

I thank you for all the many blessings that you have shared with us today and beyond and I ask that you hear our prayers whether spoken our held silently within our hearts.

Today I ask that you hear our prayers as we stand humbly before you, small and human.
Help us to remember we are all but a tiny part of a great universe, that we are all connected as one…

Bring us the strength we need to walk our paths without ego or judgment…
Allow our hearts to hear what our ears are missing
Teach us how to allow forgiveness for others and ourselves
Fill our being with the unconditional love that you so freely offer all.
I call that we be reminded we are all no better than or less than one another.

Guide us through our days, to help us with our humanness…that we learn to reconnect with others in a gentle and positive way. Offering smiles when they are needed without thought, shoulders or ears to help ease another…and words that will uplift or soothe.

Keep our children safe and strong in this troubled world… I ask that on this day and days to come…guidance is shared with our children to help them as they walk their paths. Help open their eyes so they can learn and see the right way of things, teach them to respect all life no matter how small, open their ears and minds so that they may understand things that are being taught to them in a good and gentle manner…open their hearts so that when the harshness of the world falls at their feet, they can cope and handle it with compassion and understanding.

I ask that today and all days ahead, that we learn to accept the changes we are faced with in positives enabling us to move forward, looking behind us only as a way to inspire us to become the best we are able. To be open to the healings that the Universe has provided for us to meet whatever challenges we face. To allow ourselves to set ego aside and open to healing that are sent our way. And to expand our thoughts to adaptation and understanding that we can do anything we set our minds to do…

I thank all those who have walked with us and answer our calls…this day and in days to come…and honor you …AHO
So my wish to you all today is that you allow yourself to accept the changes needed to heal. However it is you need to heal… to remember we are here to live life, to expand our experiences and horizons… take the step today, and allow healing to occur. And if you have to reach for the inner child and tell them to give you a helping hand!

I send you all peace…today… and may the love that is in my heart reach and find you all and fill your life with blessings. Thanks for tuning in…hope you return next time here… on Morning Blessings.. have a great day!

A Cherokee Story of the Great Blue Heron as shared by bear Medicinewalker

blue heron little people

The Cherokee Little People live among us, in gardens, lush forests and woods, along our marshes. They live in harmony with nature. Enjoying life, and they love to play and laugh interacting with each other and sometimes the world around them. Every now and then however they do get bothered by occasional Winged Ones (birds) who can play havoc on village life. Because most often the Winged Ones (birds) are larger than the Little People and it causes them to worry that they might be mistaken for food.

One day in the day of our Ancestors, a Cherokee Hunter, whose name has long been forgotten, shared a gift with the Little People. He taught them how to craft little bows and arrows in order to defend themselves against birds and creatures of the outside world that meant them harm. They were very grateful to this friendly hunter and honored him with a great feast! Over the next hundred years the Cherokee Little People lived next to the marshes through out the countryside in harmony with the world around them.

One fine early summer day, a flock of Blue Herons came. The long legs of the Heron caused the arrows to fall short and they did not scare the Great Blue Herons away. The long beaks of the Great Blue Heron frightened the women and children and they fled, screaming into their homes at the sides of the marsh. However the tiny warriors stood their ground facing their fears they held for these enormous creatures. The Creator looked with admiration at how these Little Men were facing the challenge so bravely and using the skills they had been taught so long ago. So a punishment was chosen for Blue Heron as a result that they had terrorized the great nation of the Cherokee Little People.

This is the reason why the Blue Heron feeds alone and is never seen in flocks to this day. So as the Great Blue Heron steps into our lives it brings with it messages of self-reflection, and as it has to feed alone…so must we take the time for self in order to face fears, understand and use our gifts that we possess for the highest good, and be in harmony with our world for all is Sacred.

Heron medicine teaches us about the power of knowing ourselves so that we can discover our gifts and face life’s challenges. That we begin learning to accept all of our feelings and opinions, and accepting all the emotions and thoughts that accompany them. It is about following our intuition and taking that empowering step into self-realization.

This Sacred Water bird shares with us to not blame others or point a negative finger at the situations of life, instead claim responsibility for our own actions and to face the enemy within us all. Find a balance in our inner truths, work on our inner weaknesses, and develop the strengths needed to understand what it is we need to feed our own spiritual being. .
