So interestingly enough we are not yet done with the Elemental of Water! As it steps in today again to tell us we need to own our power, to stand in a place of positives and let nothing shake us from it. The emotional aspects will run wild and run deep today involving the various relationships we have in our lives today. Stand tall…stand strong so the tide doesn’t rock you from your purpose.
Water is here to cleanse, renew… so trust in what it is you are feeling and do not allow others to taint that today. For there is much turbulence in the air today. So simply be aware!
Water asks do you want a healthy relationship…then make healthy choices to attract just that and then participate in it in a healthy way. You want your job to be good…school to be good then understand if you look at life in more positive ways… more positive things will occur.
Cleanse…renew…refresh your thought process… your way of being… wash your hands of negativity…shower it off and let it go down the drain… or go jump in a lake and feel alive again. Whatever you want things to be… how you want them to turn out…. control it and harness the power of what Water can do for you.
Water is all about cleansing. It brings with it fluid dream states, healing powers, fluidity within our lives, regeneration and rebirth, changes that are needed within and without our Sacred Circles and the process of unconditional love for self and others.
Water is attached with Autumn the time of death and rebirth. Water is also associated with the direction of the West. Water relates to our feminine sides, Water also represents emotions and our subconscious minds, or going within. It works with our psychic abilities and will assist in the magical world with spells utilizing mirrors.
Water is strength…so learn to harness it as it takes up 65% of our human selves… Harness it… refresh it… renew your souls with it…!

As the Corn Pollen Moon sets upon us this night… enjoy the Full Moon’s energy as Grandmother rises in the sky! It is a time to not only harness the energy but to harvest the benefits of this time!
Also known as the Barley Moon, the meaning also speaks to a time of rebirth. So practice harnessing it’s energy for your ritual and spell work. The energy Grandmother will provide you at this time will work well with both our spiritual and physical growth and health.
Also known as the Sturgeon moon by the fishing tribes since sturgeon, a large fish of the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water, were most readily caught during this month. Also known as the Full Red Moon for as she rises… she will appear reddish in color surrounded by a slight haze.
Corn the symbol of sustenance, standing tall for All of life. Corn is considered a gift from the Creator as a food, often used in ceremony. Corn has been part of the Hopi people as they have much skill in being able to grow it in desert sand. Corn Pollen is a blessing used for protection, understanding and forgiveness. Used when doing prayer, in house blessings, and to bless the peoples. Cornmeal, ground from white corn, is considered sacred and is used in blessings as well.
Corn can be easily stored and preserved during the cold winter months, can also be dried to use later. During the time of the Ancestors and in the present dried corn can be made into hominy by soaking corn in water until the kernels split open, then drained and fried over a fire. The husks are also used as they can be braided, made into masks, sleeping mats, baskets and one of my favorites and is truly a work of art … the corn husk dolls. All that remains is the corncob, and these can be used to burn as fuel.
The Corn Maiden gives of her own body to feed her family and provides seeds which ensure a continued source of food. The following is one of my favorite stories, and shows of the importance of all life and of the Eldest Sister … Corn.
The Story of the Three Sisters of the Plant People
Long ago there were three sisters who lived together in an endless field. To look at them one could see that they were very different from each other in every way, yet they were Sisters none the less.
The youngest of the three was very young and was only able to crawl. They had dressed her in the bright and beautiful color of green. The middle sister could be seen to wear a bright yellow dress and she often would run off to play when Father Sun shared his light and gentle winds raced the lands. The oldest sister could be found standing straight and tall above her sisters in order to keep watch over them. She was dressed in a pale green shawl and her hair that was a soft pale yellow could often be seen gently blowing across her face as she stood high upon the field. The one way in which they were all the same was how they were connected. They loved each other with all their hearts, they were family and they stayed together as such. This created a bond that made them very, very strong.
One day a stranger happened along and came to visit the home of the Three Sisters. It was a young boy from the nearby village. They watched him as he spoke with the winged ones, the four leggeds and others that were Sacred to the Sisters. This warmed their hearts and made them smile. That summer the young boy returned, spent the day and when he was gone the youngest sister had disappeared. Her sisters cried and didn’t know what had happened to her. In the days to come the young boy of the village returned to gather the sacred sweetgrass that grew at the water’s edge. The two remaining sisters watched as his feet left their trail in the soft earth back towards his village.
That evening as Grandmother Moon spread her blanket across the sky, the oldest sister discovered that her middle sister had disappeared as well. She stood and wept for her loss. Now the older sister was left alone but she continued to stand tall in the field. Soon the young boy came back and upon seeing how much she missed her sisters he gathered her up and took her to be back with her sisters, understanding that together the love they had for each other was strong and it was what created family.
The Three Sisters are represented as… Sister Bean
Sister Bean is dressed all in green. At first when she was young she could only crawl. Now as she grows, she clings to and leans on her Sister Corn for support. In return, Sister Bean gives her sister the nutrients she needs to grow.
Sister Squash
The middle sister is Sister Squash although sometimes she is called Pumpkin. She wears a bright, sunshine yellow dress and a golden crown and sits at the feet of her older sisters. She is much shorter than her sisters and her large leaves help keep the weeds away and the soil moist. Her vines are prickly and help to keep unwanted animals away from her sisters.
Sister Corn
The eldest is Sister Corn. She wears a pale green shawl and has silken hair that rustles when the wind blows through it. She grows tall and strong and allows her sister to lean on her for support. She keeps watch over her sisters, looking for danger and warning them.
This also creates a strong foundation for our gardens, the mainstay staples that will provide nutrition to our families.

As the world here on the lake begins to wake… the Dreamcatcher comes into focus again as the energies have shifted and are allowing us to do just that…weave and catch our dreams! So today let your soul travel freely and soak in the positive energies so they may spark new seeds of inspiration, creativity and positive reinforcements for all the goals you may set.
Show the world what you are made of by allowing yourself to understand that the life choices we make can either make our foundations stronger or can tangle us up within the shadow of negativity. Choose wisely… and walk this world in wonder and appreciation for all that we are given… all that the world has to share with us … that everything we can dream can be woven into reality.
The Dreamcatcher represents our lives as we weave them to life… so weave them strong, weave them as you choose. We can always listen to advice of others, but ultimately we are the ones that choose how we proceed. Do not live your life based on others expectations but rather to what feels right to you. Listen to that little voice inside for that is your soul speaking and guiding you on your journey.
So Dream and Dream Big! If we can envision it we can definitely accomplish it… we simply must believe in ourselves.
The Dreamcatcheris known to many far and wide. It is a part of the Native American culture that captivates the world. But for many of us it is a reminder of a gift given to us in return for holding a life as Sacred and protecting it.
The story goes that a spider was quietly spinning her web in her own space. It was beside the sleeping space of Nokomis, the grandmother. Each day, Nokomis watched the spider at work, quietly spinning away. One day as she was watching her, her grandson came in. “Nokomis-iya!” he shouted, glancing at the spider. He stomped over to the spider, picked up a shoe and went to hit it.
“No-keegwa,” the old lady whispered, “don’t hurt her.”
“Nokomis, why do you protect the spider?” asked the little boy.
The old lady smiled, but did not answer. When the boy left, the spider went to the old woman and thanked her for saving her life. She said to her, “For many days you have watched me spin and weave my web. You have admired my work. In return for saving my life, I will give you a gift.”
She smiled her special spider smile and moved away, spinning as she went.
Soon the moon glistened on a magical silvery web moving gently in the window. “See how I spin?” she said. “See and learn, for each web will snare bad dreams. Only good dreams will go through the small hole. This is my gift to you. Use it so that only good dreams will be remembered. The bad dreams will become hopelessly entangled in the web.”
So allow the negatives of life to become entangled in the web of life, and let only the good and positives to enter so that you will walk in a good light as you move forward in your journeys.
Blessings to You All,

Today the Turkey shows up and reminds us to stop worrying about what everyone else is doing and focus more on how we are walking. As the energy begins to clear a bit we find that we have been so focused on our neighbors that we have forgotten we are human too. It’s time to finish and cleanup our own lives and stop whining about everyone elses.
Turkey shines the light on we need to prepare for the upcoming seasons so they will be more stress free than stressful! How do we do that??? Well we can start by settling in and getting done what needs to be done. Once that happens then we can go about assisting the people within our own Life Circles… stop being distracted by outside noise!
The Turkey represents Family, nurturing and care for self and others. It is about abundance and strengthening bonds. They represent renewal and teach us to care for others and through that we will imprint and open new avenues for positive growth and opportunity. But once again we must learn to honor that process.
No matter what others are setting the tone for, we must learn to listen to our souls voice to achieve our hopes, dreams and aspirations for the higher good. This is not always an easy thing to do because we are always being pressured to move with the masses, be a sheep and follow the herd.
We must learn to take risk and allow our own voices to be heard above the crowds at times. For there are times to sit, watch and listen in order to learn how to move forward…and there are times to stand up and shout purpose and positives so others may wake. Turkey also shares with us the lessons of living harmoniously with the Great Mother Earth and all that dwells on her surface. To assist in keeping the balance between it all.
Turkey also speaks to us of making sure we keep our ego in check and that although we should be proud of self, love self, there is no reason to flaunt what we are or have to others. Honor the sacrifices we make, honor the family we have…and be thankful for All that is Sacred! Embrace your families and your community because in doing so our Humanity is fed in positives.

Interesting to me that the Elementals are showing themselves this week and today it is Water… Water is life… Water helps things to grow in positives. The elemental of Water shows today as the earth at my door cools and asks for the rains to come. It is time today to reach inside and tap into the knowing, our psychic sides…those little voices that guide us as we walk the earth!
It is time to cleanse the old ways of thinking, the old cycles that perhaps we have been stuck in feeling like we can’t get away from… well today it is all about reprogramming ourselves into understanding we are in control of our own path and what we allow to interact with our life circles. How…? Well we have the power to do that because we should and are in control of our own selves. So cleanse the closets of proverbial crap …set it to the curb and own who you are!
You want a healthy relationship…then make healthy choices to attract just that and then participate in it in a healthy way. You want your job to be good…school to be good then understand if you look at life in more positive ways… more positive things will occur. Today Fire sweeps in reminding us we have to take responsibility for our footsteps on our paths. Outcomes positive or negative are not because others made us, or others did this or that and prevented us… they are about us having made choices. This is not a judgement by any means, it is a simple truth. We do not always want to be the responsible party. Well guess what buttercup… until we do we don’t get to move forward. We simply stay stuck in the same ole same ole… in the never ending loop of what does not serve our highest good.
So stop whining about it and do something proactive about it. Step into life with that fire that burns within and allow it to burn out the cycles of negativity and chaos in our lives to start fresh in the understanding that we control how things affect us… we choose what we say and do…
Fire is all about passion, drive, creation and motivation that steps out in our lives. The Elemental Fire ignites within us sheer will and determination to get the job done. It not only represents our own souls light but is about the Divine Fire that is within each of us. Fire has a place both here in the physical Earth plane and secondly in the spiritual one. Fire is powerful and needs to be understood when using it, both physically and spiritually.
The Elemental of Fire can assist you with standing in your own power. It will assist you in manifestation as you move forward in positives to your goals. It requires us to tend and feed it as flame begins to dwindle. We need to use caution with Fire as it can consume us, yet it has balance and can also share light and heat. It shines and dances leaping into the air bringing light to the darkness, and thus balance. It sings out for us to dance, listen to the drum of our own heartbeats, and share in the magic that Fire brings about.
Today is about following your instincts, channeling the inner fire to get the job done. Fire ignites the extreme within us to trust that ancient wisdom that is in our genetic DNA urging us to listen to the little voice within, stop second guessing yourself and get done what is needed. For at the end of the day, there will be much to show for having done just that. Allow it to not only inspire you, but those around you! Just remember when it is evident in your life, the Elemental Fire needs to have balance and work with what is around the our life circles in a positive manner.

As I sit at the lake edge this morning I am filled with gratitude as it begins to come alive as Grandfather Sun rises in the sky. I can feel the presence of the Ancestors, those that have walked before us, those that have shed tears, sweat and blood to enable us to be who we are today. Ancestors who guide us from the beyond, who left lessons and imprints on this earth so that we wouldn’t have to repeat them in order to learn them here in the now, the today.
Their voices are like whispers upon the water carried by the gentle breeze that swirls around me. The day will bring mixed emotions of old and new. It is time to stand our ground and take responsibility for what is ours to own. It makes us stronger, it serves as teacher for what we need to move forward on our paths. But it is time to slow down and listen to what is needed to be heard. So stop for a moment and listen… listen to those voices upon the winds… that of Our Ancestors.
Go back to the root of it all, our core values… the Seven Grandfather Teachings of, Respect, Humility, Truth, Courage, Honesty, Wisdom and Love. (Among the Anishinaabe people, the Teachings of the Seven Grandfathers, also known simply as either the Seven Teachings or Seven Grandfathers, is a set of teachings on human conduct towards others.)
That little voice in our heads, the tingle we may feel as we walk through our days, that knowing we have and stop for a second to say hmmm how did I know that? All little ways that our Ancestorsreach out to us through time /no time itself to assist and guide us as we walk our human. Yes we are not going crazy; we are simply tapping into lessons and teachings of long ago… things that resonate to the very core of our souls as truths and understandings.
So what does this a;; have to do with today you are thinking? Well it has everything to do with today, for as we move forward…as we take each step… with each thought and action we take… we must remember we too are imprinting and leaving our own mark on the world. One day the people from tribes of the future will look back on us as the Ancestors, so let us make sure when they do they are thanking us.
If we make that conscious effort to stay in positives within and outside our own Sacred Hoops… perhaps we can influence positive change and movement that will echo through time/no time and strengthen the basic teachings, the very foundations which we come from. Whether you are Baptist, Buddhist, Aboriginal, Islamic, Born Again, Catholic, or Jew… whether you are gay, heterosexual, yellow, black, brown or white… poor or rich, young or old… we all imprint, we all can choose to promote positive over negatives.
So today choose to honor our Ancestors as they support us… Today share a story from old times gone by so they are not lost. Today stop and say a prayer or even simply whisper a quiet thank you for all they have done for us in order to make the world a better place for each and every one of us. Honor the work.. the sacrifice… and all they contributed as they walked the human before us.
Let us join spiritual hands to offer prayer.
I call to the sacred winds…to carry my words
To the Grandmothers and Grandfathers of the North, the south, the east, the west, Above …below and within…
I call to the sacred winds to carry my words to the Winged ones…the Four Leggeds…the Plant People…the Crystal Keepers, the Thunder Beings, the Angelic Realm…Mother Mary and Magdalene…my Brother Christ and all the nations that love us.
I thank you for all the many blessings that you have shared with us today and beyond and I ask that you hear our prayers whether spoken our held silently within our hearts.
Today I ask that you hear our prayers as we stand humbly before you, small and human.
Help us to remember we are all but a tiny part of a great universe, that we are all connected as one…
Bring us the strength we need to walk our paths without ego or judgment…
Allow our hearts to hear what our ears are missing
Teach us how to allow forgiveness for others and ourselves
Fill our being with the unconditional love that you so freely offer all.
I call that we be reminded we are all no better than or less than one another.
Guide us through our days, to help us with our humanness…that we learn to reconnect with others in a gentle and positive way. Offering smiles when they are needed without thought, shoulders or ears to help ease another…and words that will uplift or soothe.
Keep our children safe and strong in this troubled world… I ask that on this day and days to come…guidance is shared with our children to help them as they walk their paths. Help open their eyes so they can learn and see the right way of things, teach them to respect all life no matter how small, open their ears and minds so that they may understand things that are being taught to them in a good and gentle manner…open their hearts so that when the harshness of the world falls at their feet, they can cope and handle it with compassion and understanding.
I ask that today and all days ahead, that we remember to walk with our Ancestors, honoring them and all they sacrificed for us. Showing them and the world that in doing so we understand the strong foundations that were taught to us, to assist ourselves, our families and friends and all those in the worlds we live in to also be strong examples of goodness and light.
I thank all those who have walked with us and answer our calls…this day and in days to come…and honor you …
May it Be Said… May it Be So!
So my wish to you all today is for all of us to connect to our roots, the seemingly long forgotten teachings of our basic foundations, to shore them up, bring about restoration for Humanity and compassion again. To understand that if we believe in it strongly enough with Love we can heal and balance again.
Blessings One and All! ~bear Medicinewalker
