Spiritual and Totem Insights of the Day the Ancestors

As I sit at the lake edge this morning I am filled with gratitude as it begins to come alive as Grandfather Sun rises in the sky. I can feel the presence of the Ancestors, those that have walked before us, those that have shed tears, sweat and blood to enable us to be who we are today. Ancestors who guide us from the beyond, who left lessons and imprints on this earth so that we wouldn’t have to repeat them in order to learn them here in the now, the today.

Their voices are like whispers upon the water carried by the gentle breeze that swirls around me. The day will bring mixed emotions of old and new. It is time to stand our ground and take responsibility for what is ours to own. It makes us stronger, it serves as teacher for what we need to move forward on our paths. But it is time to slow down and listen to what is needed to be heard. So stop for a moment and listen… listen to those voices upon the winds… that of Our Ancestors.

Go back to the root of it all, our core values… the Seven Grandfather Teachings of, Respect, Humility, Truth, Courage, Honesty, Wisdom and Love. (Among the Anishinaabe people, the Teachings of the Seven Grandfathers, also known simply as either the Seven Teachings or Seven Grandfathers, is a set of teachings on human conduct towards others.)

That little voice in our heads, the tingle we may feel as we walk through our days, that knowing we have and stop for a second to say hmmm how did I know that? All little ways that our Ancestors reach out to us through time /no time itself to assist and guide us as we walk our human. Yes we are not going crazy; we are simply tapping into lessons and teachings of long ago… things that resonate to the very core of our souls as truths and understandings.

So what does this a;; have to do with today you are thinking? Well it has everything to do with today, for as we move forward…as we take each step… with each thought and action we take… we must remember we too are imprinting and leaving our own mark on the world. One day the people from tribes of the future will look back on us as the Ancestors, so let us make sure when they do they are thanking us.

If we make that conscious effort to stay in positives within and outside our own Sacred Hoops… perhaps we can influence positive change and movement that will echo through time/no time and strengthen the basic teachings, the very foundations which we come from. Whether you are Baptist, Buddhist, Aboriginal, Islamic, Born Again, Catholic, or Jew… whether you are gay, heterosexual, yellow, black, brown or white… poor or rich, young or old… we all imprint, we all can choose to promote positive over negatives.

So today choose to honor our Ancestors as they support us… Today share a story from old times gone by so they are not lost. Today stop and say a prayer or even simply whisper a quiet thank you for all they have done for us in order to make the world a better place for each and every one of us. Honor the work.. the sacrifice… and all they contributed as they walked the human before us.

Let us join spiritual hands to offer prayer.

I call to the sacred winds…to carry my words
To the Grandmothers and Grandfathers of the North, the south, the east, the west, Above …below and within…

I call to the sacred winds to carry my words to the Winged ones…the Four Leggeds…the Plant People…the Crystal Keepers, the Thunder Beings, the Angelic Realm…Mother Mary and Magdalene…my Brother Christ and all the nations that love us.

I thank you for all the many blessings that you have shared with us today and beyond and I ask that you hear our prayers whether spoken our held silently within our hearts.

Today I ask that you hear our prayers as we stand humbly before you, small and human.
Help us to remember we are all but a tiny part of a great universe, that we are all connected as one…

Bring us the strength we need to walk our paths without ego or judgment…
Allow our hearts to hear what our ears are missing
Teach us how to allow forgiveness for others and ourselves
Fill our being with the unconditional love that you so freely offer all.
I call that we be reminded we are all no better than or less than one another.

Guide us through our days, to help us with our humanness…that we learn to reconnect with others in a gentle and positive way. Offering smiles when they are needed without thought, shoulders or ears to help ease another…and words that will uplift or soothe.

Keep our children safe and strong in this troubled world… I ask that on this day and days to come…guidance is shared with our children to help them as they walk their paths. Help open their eyes so they can learn and see the right way of things, teach them to respect all life no matter how small, open their ears and minds so that they may understand things that are being taught to them in a good and gentle manner…open their hearts so that when the harshness of the world falls at their feet, they can cope and handle it with compassion and understanding.

I ask that today and all days ahead, that we remember to walk with our Ancestors, honoring them and all they sacrificed for us. Showing them and the world that in doing so we understand the strong foundations that were taught to us, to assist ourselves, our families and friends and all those in the worlds we live in to also be strong examples of goodness and light.

I thank all those who have walked with us and answer our calls…this day and in days to come…and honor you …

May it Be Said… May it Be So!

So my wish to you all today is for all of us to connect to our roots, the seemingly long forgotten teachings of our basic foundations, to shore them up, bring about restoration for Humanity and compassion again. To understand that if we believe in it strongly enough with Love we can heal and balance again.

Blessings One and All!

Spiritual and Totem Insights of the Day the Loon

The Loon lays a spell out over the lake this day and reminds us to connect to our higher self, our spiritual nature and tap into the energy there.reminding ourselves that we are good enough, we are strong enough, and we have got whatever may come our way. So Enjoy the day and pull into that comfort zone when tensions and anxiety around you may be in the air.

It is not time to hide but rely on the core strength we all have and know that it can and will get us through even the toughest of situations and times.

The haunting song of the Loon calls out to us speaking to us of our Dreams, Wants and Desires… the things that we want to happen or become. They reach out to speak to our higher self. To tell us it is time to release all we have wished for so that they may open to a new reality.

Loons remind us to understand that often we are being taught while in dream state, or perhaps even visited by our Guides, Spirit and/or Loved Ones that have continued on a journey past the mere physical. We need to be open to what they are sharing with us, for they are assisting us in walking the human in a more positive way and getting us through stress and everyday life obstacles.

Loon calls through the reality and illusion of time as we know it. Mystically being able to conjure spirit and energy with their very voice will help you to awaken to possibilities that you may not have noticed and inspire your creativity. It’s time to allow the boundaries we have placed on our minds to fall away and understand that the cosmic consciousness is bigger than just one single thought… one single act…one single being…

So open to the manifestations you are trying to make happen and realize the only thing that stops us from reaching our goals is the boundaries and limits we place on self. Open to being the best incarnation of you that can be… grow, learn, live, love and expand with each new experience. Allow your soul’s very essence to reach beyond what we can see with our conscious mind and expand into all that is Sacred….

Spiritual and Totem Insights of the Day – Wolf

Wolf comes in to remind us today of what is important… belief and love of Self. Emotions run into odd energy today, so be mindful of it and don’t let it lead you into a dark space. Wolf teaches us that we need to remember the core of who we are and use that to hold our ground today. Be Gentle with self and thoughtful, don’t try and make big decisions or rash opinions of things today.

Wolf reminds us to sense what is important in our life circle and allow that to shore us up against negativity and the thoughtlessness of others. Be caring and nurturing with your energy and life source today… as it is an important key to how we need to walk and be.

Wolf reminds us that it is far to easy to shelter ourselves or do what I call self isolation, but sometimes by doing so we miss out on some amazing things and people. So enrich your souls today and expand your reach by including some of what life is offering us all outside of our circle.

Wolf has been a spiritual and totem animal in the religions of many cultures. Wolves represent the symbol of freedom and individuality, yet also remind us we have a responsibility to the pack. Some religious beliefs attribute the creation of the earth in part to the Wolf.  It was believed that the power of a Wolf would could help with the success of a hunt, bring a chief’s dead son to life or alleviate the pain of childbirth.  The People and the wolf are part of each other.

Wolf and its medicine live harmoniously with us…they will hunt together, live together and their spirits are one.  Wolf  represents courage, strength, loyalty, wisdom and teacher of balance. Some of the stories that have been passed down often tell of the first ancestors being transformed from wolves into Human.

Whatever they represent to each of us may be different, but the one thing I hold as truth is they are our teachers, our sisters and brothers… not something that should be controlled or hunted. They only take what is needed, they stay away from humans unless provoked…and we have taken all that is theirs when they and many like them have openly shared with us all. It is time for us all to raise our voice in protection of this magnificent animal and others like it…

Wolf is a very organized creature. It understands there is need for order and balance for harmony to occur with our Sacred Hoops. Wolf is regarded as one of the most powerful spirit guides of all for it represents teacher and lessons to be learned and shared with self. It speaks to us to seek counsel from people that you respect. To take a moment to step back and look for the true meaning from the issue you face. By doing so, you will be able to walk clearly ahead and do what needs to be done with the knowledge you can see it all clearly.

Although many think the sight of a Lone Wolf means freedom it actually does notIt instead represents that it is a time to look deep in oneself and find the balance that is needed in your own life that is lacking. For the wolf is meant to be in packs, in a community, in a family, with its mate. The times you see wolves on their own or isolated is do to unbalance that needs to reground and once again be in the circle of the Sacred Hoop.

The Wolf cry reminds us to stand our ground, remember we all need boundaries. It is about communication, answering the call and listening to the response. The Wolf an assist us to open and listen to the sound of others in order to understand better the situation. It is about having the strength of the pack, and your closest friends with you when you need them without questions.

Wolf is strongly connected to lunar cycles, so learn to move with that cycle and honor it in order to be at your best. They teach us to weed out what is the weakest and no longer serves us, so that new and better things will come our way.

Spiritual and Totem Insights for the Day the Heron

The Heron shows up today to remind us all to take our time… slow down and don’t rush what is in motion. We often want to get to the end quickly of whatever that may be, a situation, a goal, an outcome… but what we forget is what we learn and gain from the actual process. So Take your time to think about all you have…all your blessings and how you got here in the first place. Whether it was in an obstacle filled path or a smooth one everything has purpose and reason. So Slow sown so you can benefit from the teachings that have been shared with you!

Heron teaches us to ground by learning to bring balance to our OWN SACRED HOOPS… by stepping carefully through the negatives and understanding your voice is good enough and your positive outlook, the positive choices we each make can make a difference in our world.

Heron brings with it the strong connection to the Great Mother Earth. It teaches us to channel that inner strength and using it to ground and remain strong in the course. Be strong and balance so that you can accomplish many things at the same time.

Heron shares with us the ability to become independent and self reliant, yet knowing when to change and adapt in life when needed. Follow your own path, not necessarily the direction that others tell you to walk. You have this, and are capable.

Heron teach us to be comfortable in our own being, and happy. To love self and understand we are all worthy of good and positive things. Typically they spend much time on their own, but know that it is at times better to be more social and step out of their comfort zones to add experiences and keep the balance of all things in their Sacred Hoop.

Use your steps wisely as the Heron does and take advantage of the exact moment when it is time to move in a positive motion on your path.

Spiritual and Totem Insights for the Day the Dreamcatcher

Today the Dreamcatcher shows itself speaking to the thin line between here and there. Looking into our dreams world often and most assuredly will give us insights into our world we walk. Understand that our dreams are showing us what we want to attain, what we can attain only if we believe in our selves. Powerful, powerful manifestation tools.

But we also need to remember that dreams are woven and we need to tend to them same as the Dreamcatcher’s web filters the negatives out and allows the positives to flow inward. So must we with our own lives. Do not let the negativity that surrounds us to bleed into our lives, breaking the good we have down thus dimming the light that shines from within each of us.

The Dreamcatcher represents our lives as we weave them to life… so weave them strong, weave them as you choose. We can always listen to advice of others, but ultimately we are the ones that choose how we proceed. Do not live your life based on others expectations but rather to what feels right to you. Listen to that little voice inside for that is your soul speaking and guiding you on your journey.

So Dream and Dream Big! If we can envision it we can definitely accomplish it… we simply must believe in ourselves.

The Dreamcatcher is known to many far and wide. It is a part of the Native American culture that captivates the world. But for many of us it is a reminder of a gift given to us in return for holding a life as Sacred and protecting it.

The story goes that a spider was quietly spinning her web in her own space. It was beside the sleeping space of Nokomis, the grandmother. Each day, Nokomis watched the spider at work, quietly spinning away. One day as she was watching her, her grandson came in. “Nokomis-iya!” he shouted, glancing at the spider. He stomped over to the spider, picked up a shoe and went to hit it.

“No-keegwa,” the old lady whispered, “don’t hurt her.”
“Nokomis, why do you protect the spider?” asked the little boy.

The old lady smiled, but did not answer. When the boy left, the spider went to the old woman and thanked her for saving her life. She said to her, “For many days you have watched me spin and weave my web. You have admired my work. In return for saving my life, I will give you a gift.”
She smiled her special spider smile and moved away, spinning as she went.

Soon the moon glistened on a magical silvery web moving gently in the window. “See how I spin?” she said. “See and learn, for each web will snare bad dreams. Only good dreams will go through the small hole. This is my gift to you. Use it so that only good dreams will be remembered. The bad dreams will become hopelessly entangled in the web.”

So allow the negatives of life to become entangled in the web of life, and let only the good and positives to enter so that you will walk in a good light as you move forward in your journeys.

Blessings to You All,

Spiritual and Totem Insights for the Day Honey Bee

Today the Honey Bee comes in to remind us there is work to be done within our center cores. Today it is best with the energy that is around to work inside the hive. Work to remind ourselves we are good enough and have the tool sets to be what it is we need to be in positives as we walk through life. The Honey Bee also reminds us there is always work to be done, things to learn in order for our lives to be secure and interesting. Think about it for a moment…if everything was the same every day life would be boring!

This is why the Honey Bee reminds us that everything and everyone is different for a reason… perfect in our own imperfections. For we are all a part of the world around us… but also to remember that we are also the creator’s of our own Sacred Hoops… our life circles. So be careful when we are doing so that we remain true to our cores of who we are supposed to be, and build a more positive situation for ourselves.

The Honey Bee serves a very specific purpose in life, it’s job is to pollinate plants and collect nectar to make Honey. It is what drives the continued life cycle of all the plants we see and use in our daily lives. It has been said that Bees are so important to our ecosystem that if they become extinct, humans would cease to exist as well soon afterward.

Honey Bee reminds us to continue to be (no pun intended) productive in our lives while at the same time remembering to enjoy the results of all our hard work. Bees should not be able to fly for their tiny bodies are not designed aerodynamically, yet they don’t dwell on it rather they just DO. Bees also teach us about community. As they move from plant to plant, they help to continue the life cycle.

Honey Bee teaches balance with our lives, even though they are amazing workers; they also slow down to enjoy life. Reminding us that otherwise life’s purpose holds no meaning.

“Across the country and the world, many pollinators are in decline or at risk of extinction. It’s a serious issue because forests, prairies, meadows, wetlands, seashores and croplands all depend on a diverse and healthy pollinator community to thrive. Globally, nearly 85 percent of all flowering plants require help from animals to produce seeds and fruit. Without them, neither humans nor wildlife would have as much to eat and as a result the planet’s biodiversity would plummet.” ~ Gene Brandi, Bee Keeper

We need to be mindful of the Bee’s and assist them in thriving and continuing their work. We need to plant gardens, flowers that will assist the process for all the Creatures of the Great Mother Earth. WE need to become the Caretakers we are meant to be, and stop destroying the very ground we live upon.

Spiritual and Totem Insights of the Day Grandfather Sun

Today is a Day to be gentle with self. Grandfather Sun rises from the deck today and says that we often forget to take care of us… take care of our energy when it is depleted, so take a few moments from your day and rest…sit out under Grandfather Sun and soak up what he shares with all life here on the planet. Restore…and help positives to grow!

Grandfather Suns’ healing rays can gently warm our sore muscles and bones, reminding us to be grateful for the miracles of life… or it can be brutal and harsh showing us that we must care responsibly for life itself. Careful to shield ourselves from negatives of the world around us. Whatever the case may be as we continue our daily walks… take a moment to rejoice and soak up some energy today … as Grandfather shouts to us, “Hoka Hey Life is Good… Life is Sacred!”

Grandfather Sun is very important to all of us. The sun has been looked upon as the giver of light, heat, welcomed by the crops that are planted and all of the Plant People and bring about growth. The rays of the sun also represent the cardinal directions, North, South, East and West..

So as it enters our space here today and in days to come, Grandfather Sun brings with him the Creator’s Healing Grace. He shines and sends shadows and negativity away. The warmth it provides us is like a mother’s hug wrapping around us to say everything is gonna be alright.

Today have a bit of faith, open your hearts to experience the good in the world and let the shadows of negativity dissipate from the light of your soul. Feel what is strong and powerful in your selves and let that positive shine for the world to see. Allow your growth to continue, experience the strength from within that we all have, that although it may be being tested at the moment, still has what is needed to get through it all.

Breathe and feel his fingers upon your faces as Grandfather Sun freely gives us the power he provides unconditionally. Enjoy your day and don’t let dark clouds detour you from your goals!
