Accepting Change to Allow Healing

blessings and paryers

When I sit and look back on my life, I can recall the many things I used to be able to do with ease. Things like running, biking, sports and now even the simple task of what many may take for granted… walking.

During this past year many people in and around my life have experienced physical setbacks. You know the tough situations that change the way you may think or do things from that point forward. So I thought I would share a little insight from an old bear this day, in hopes of sending some healing thoughts that will enable some to change their outlooks on life to a more healing pathway. If not… consider them ramblings of an old bear.

Okay so I now take a step back into time for a second to when I was thirteen years old. Wow seems like ions ago, anyhow it was at this time that my bones began their cranky and pushy way of telling me to slow down. My joints were showing signs of weakness and arthritis, my knees were a knocking and my ankles would give out at any given time with a mind of their own. So off to the Ortho I went. So it began my intimate and up close relationship with the medical field. And if some of you are not aware, let me tell you that pain is not your friend. Matter of fact it has a way of messing with your mind and can alter the way other people view you as well.

By the time I was eighteen I had already had multiple knee surgeries on both knees and had eight of my front teeth knocked out. (As a side note my dentist could tell I had arthritis by looking at my teeth and my fingers. The reason he stated was his own daughter had it as well.) From there I went on to fracture my low spine, get rear ended by a car and severe whiplash which has dominated my cervical spine for life, an ankle broken clean through as I attempted to hop a fence…(lol yeah did that one when I was 32 years old…) and the list goes on and on. So needless to say my bones and body have taken a lifelong beating. Then add to that a heart attack in 2006.

Now I am not sharing this all with you to feel sorry for me, quite the opposite… I am sharing it to let you know that you can get through it, you can help yourself to heal. However in order to allow it to happen you have to be able to accept change. Change in the fact you perhaps can not do something in the manner you used to, change in the fact you realize that you are not weak but rather physically challenged. Challenged to figure out a way to approach your life differently. After all that is one of the greatest gifts we are born with, a mind, a thought process and it is up to us to use it to its fullest potential.

The greatest example of this for me, my personal wake up call was when I worked at Children’s Hospital of Detroit. Kids, they push through it no matter what it is they face challenges head on. They inspired me, they would tell me not to be sad for them… so when I see people that are physically struggling with disease, physicality’s I view them as warriors. I see the accomplishments they strive to attain, or have already attained as amazing. They are living their lives.

When I got thrown the curveball with my physical, I went through the process that most go through. Frustration, sadness, depression and ego, until the day I decided okay I need to start living again. So I started to adapt how I approached and did things I used to do. I became grateful for all I had done that I couldn’t do anymore, for I had gotten the chance to experience it, and realized that is what we are here for… to live life, good, bad and indifferent. The key is how we choose to live it… in Negatives or in Positives.

So yup in the real world I had to learn to ask for help when I need it, I got used to the ground up close and personal because ultimately it will and does happen, I fall. Yet when I do, I get up and start again. Maybe a little slower than I used to, but none the less… I do get back up. I no longer can do the work I once did in the corporate world, but I keep busy. I do the work the Creator wants me to do, that “Spirit” encourages me to do with the help from the Ancestors and those that have walked before me.

And most importantly I “Live” perhaps not like others…but we are all uniquely different for a reason. After all, wouldn’t life be boring if we were all the same?

Let us raise our intentions to our consciousness and voice by sending healing energies and prayer up this day…

I call to the sacred winds…to carry my words
To the Grandmothers and Grandfathers of the North, the south, the east, the west, Above …below and within…

I call to the sacred winds to carry my words to the Winged ones…the Four Leggeds…the Plant People…the Crystal Keepers, the Thunder Beings, the Angelic Realm…Mother Mary and Magdalene…my Brother Christ and all the nations that love us.

I thank you for all the many blessings that you have shared with us today and beyond and I ask that you hear our prayers whether spoken our held silently within our hearts.

Today I ask that you hear our prayers as we stand humbly before you, small and human.
Help us to remember we are all but a tiny part of a great universe, that we are all connected as one…

Bring us the strength we need to walk our paths without ego or judgment…
Allow our hearts to hear what our ears are missing
Teach us how to allow forgiveness for others and ourselves
Fill our being with the unconditional love that you so freely offer all.
I call that we be reminded we are all no better than or less than one another.

Guide us through our days, to help us with our humanness…that we learn to reconnect with others in a gentle and positive way. Offering smiles when they are needed without thought, shoulders or ears to help ease another…and words that will uplift or soothe.

Keep our children safe and strong in this troubled world… I ask that on this day and days to come…guidance is shared with our children to help them as they walk their paths. Help open their eyes so they can learn and see the right way of things, teach them to respect all life no matter how small, open their ears and minds so that they may understand things that are being taught to them in a good and gentle manner…open their hearts so that when the harshness of the world falls at their feet, they can cope and handle it with compassion and understanding.

I ask that today and all days ahead, that we learn to accept the changes we are faced with in positives enabling us to move forward, looking behind us only as a way to inspire us to become the best we are able. To be open to the healings that the Universe has provided for us to meet whatever challenges we face. To allow ourselves to set ego aside and open to healing that are sent our way. And to expand our thoughts to adaptation and understanding that we can do anything we set our minds to do…

I thank all those who have walked with us and answer our calls…this day and in days to come…and honor you …AHO
So my wish to you all today is that you allow yourself to accept the changes needed to heal. However it is you need to heal… to remember we are here to live life, to expand our experiences and horizons… take the step today, and allow healing to occur. And if you have to reach for the inner child and tell them to give you a helping hand!

I send you all peace…today… and may the love that is in my heart reach and find you all and fill your life with blessings. Thanks for tuning in…hope you return next time here… on Morning Blessings.. have a great day!

the Story of the Cherokee Rose as shared by bear Medicinewalker

38754_1553548359669_5973713_n
More than 100 years ago, the Cherokee people were driven from their home mountains when the white men discovered gold in the mountains of Tears. Some of the people came across Marengo County in West Alabama. It seems that after they had left the mountains, they came this far south so not have to climb more mountains.

It was early summer and very hot, and most of the time the people had to walk. Tempers were short and many times the soldiers were more like animal drivers than guides for the people. The men were so frustrated with the treatment of their women and children, and the soldiers were so harsh and frustrated that bad things often happened. When two men get angry they fight and once in a while men were killed on the trip. Many people died of much hardship. Much of the time the trip was hard and sad and the women wept for losing their homes and their dignity. The old men knew that they must do something to help the women not to lose their strength in weeping. They knew the women would have to be very strong if they were to help the children survive.

So one night after they had made camp along the Trail of Tears, the old men sitting around the dying campfire called up to the Creator to help the people in their trouble. They told Him that the people were suffering and feared that the little ones would not survive to rebuild the Cherokee Nation.

The Creator responded, “Yes, I have seen the sorrows of the women and I can help them to keep their strength to help the children. Tell the women in the morning to look back where their tears have fallen to the ground. I will cause to grow quickly a plant. They will see a little green plant at first with a stem growing up. It will grow up and up and fall back down to touch the ground where another stem will begin to grow. I’ll make the plant grow so fast at first that by afternoon they’ll see a white rose, a beautiful blossom with five petals. In the center of the rose, I will put a pile of gold to remind them of the gold which the white man wanted when his greed drove the Cherokee from their ancestral home.”

The Creator said that the green leaves will have seven leaflets, one for each of the seven clans of the Cherokee. The plant will begin to spread out all over, a very strong plant, a plant which will grow in large, strong clumps and it will take back some of the land they had lost. It will have stickers on every stem to protect it from anything that tries to move it away.

The next morning the old men told the women to look back for the sign from the Creator. The women saw the plant beginning as a tiny shoot and growing up and up until it spread out over the land. They watched as a blossom formed, so beautiful they forgot to weep and they felt beautiful and strong. By the afternoon they saw many white blossoms as far as they could see. The women began to think about their strength given them to bring up their children as the new Cherokee Nation. They knew the plant marked the path of the brutal Trail of Tears. The Cherokee women saw that the Cherokee Rose was strong enough to take back much of the land of their people.

Spiritual and Totem Insights for the Day – the White Buffalo

card 38 White Buffalo 1122

White Buffalo brings us the Gift of Promise with it today as it drops from the deck, Promise that was made long ago between the Creator and the people. We are reminded to hold all things as Sacred, to walk with the 7 Teachings of the Grandfathers, which also provides us with the strong foundation for us as Humans to build upon. We All have been given the gift of choice, to walk in positives or to walk in the world of shadow and negatives. Make no mistake we are the ones doing the choosing, no one else.

So this morning the White Buffalo encourages us all to stop and listen to the echo of our soul so that we may understand it is never too late to change our paths… our walk… our way of life. We simply must return to those fundamentals that ALL our Ancestors left us… Respect, Wisdom, Love, Trust, Courage, Truth, Honesty and Humility.

White Buffalo shares with us that it is time to honor all that is sacred in and around us. It is about the power of Prayer. It is time to feed our souls, our spirituality. That in order to allow abundance into our lives we must walk the Sacred Path, but also be open to the fact that all life, all that has been shared with us no matter how small …how large, is Sacred.

The White Buffalo is connected to the teachings of the original people, the things that often are forgotten by us in this modern day world that is filled with material and greed. The White Buffalo warns us and gently nudges to remind us that we must not forget to be grateful, thankful, and take care of our Sacred Hoops.

To talk to the Universe and God Creator often, to share with others the simple positive things such as prayer, ritual, ceremony, traditions. To slow down so that we do not forget the lessons of old and where it is we come from. When we honor that process we will assist in manifesting our dreams, our goals in a more positive light. White buffalo will help to keep us grounded and on the right walk, allowing us to realize that when we are walking correctly the path is much easier to move upon.

Honor Self, Honor Creator, Honor All Life as Sacred.

Spiritual and Totem Insights for the Day – the Moose

width="800"
MOOSE! Yup you heard me… Moose and not the chocolate yummy kind, the Four Legged Large and in charge kind the Moose stops in today reminding us of Life and the inner Strengths that each and everyone of us has deep down in our Soul’s. Moose is all about listening to our instinct and remaining in balance when using our strength, for sometimes situations call for gentle strength and at other times it calls on us to be fierce! They remind us to look to our Elders, our Wise ones in and around our Sacred Hoops for advice and perspective.

As large as Moose are they are still graceful in movement, stealth and quick when called for. That is a huge lesson for us to learn as we walk the Human. It isn’t always about being first, or always thinking that our way is the only way… it is about honoring and respecting all points of view and then choosing the most positive for you. Knowing our Soul’s true purpose is to walk in positives and experience life itself. Moose tells us to be proud of who we are as individuals and let no one tell you that you are less than.

Moose encourages us to be true to ourselves and who we are… Self Love is one of the hardest things to attain for many, so get your bootstraps, pull them up and walk proudly for who you are and remember it isn’t about ego, it isn’t about what others see in us… it is about balance and pride in the positives we are able to step forward in.

Spiritual and Totem Insights for the Day – Crocodile

card 1 crocodile 1122
Crocodile stops in to day and yells…”Toughen up cupcakes, time to put on some thicker skins and stop letting the little stuff irritate you.” Lately as Humans, we have allowed ourselves to be sucked in and down under the muck. We thrive on gossip, negativity and promote people who behave badly. Seriously who cares about what some celebrity is doing or not doing?

Time to begin listening with our hearts again, to remember how things should be…that it is okay to hug each other without calling the police, to speak and communicate with each other in a respectful and understanding manner. To stop outside bias from interfering from us behaving as good people…. So dig deep folks… and think about what your mind will digest before swallowing those negatives that are spewed about!

The Crocodile is one of the oldest creatures and has been around for ions. The wisdom and survival skill it has taken for them to live through centuries of change is something we should look closely at as they are here to teach us as human as well. Crocodile teaches us sometimes we need to reach deep within to our primal energy, things that are instinctive to move through our paths. It speaks to us of our breathing patterns to take time to take that deep breath in order to bring balance to our minds and bodies.

Crocodile is a protector and keeper of All Knowledge. So it is time to tap into what it is we need in order to inspire, manifest and walk our dreams and ambitions. Remember patience and to allow yourself time to adapt to change that may show up in your life at this time. It is a time of growth and regeneration. It is time to expand and use what you instinctively know for emotional healing, for self and perhaps even to those that you may encounter in your days.

Crocodile speaks to knowing when to roll with what life throws at us, when to show patience, when to dig deep and when it is time to wallow in mud to allow healing and regeneration, transformation to bring about healing and a new part to our journeys.  Honor your soul’s journey, from other lifetimes into our current path and continuing on as we gather energies and knowledge moving forward in positives to experience life in many forms.

Spiritual and Totem Insights for the Day – the Heron

card 12 Heron 1122
Well I woke this morning to hearing the song “All about that Bass” in my head today… you know the one I am talking about… the one by Meghan Trainor. Yeah that is the one, telling us to not worry about being what society and media tells us we should be…. Then I sit; shuffle the deck and the Heron flips over with the message Time to use our OWN brains… to not live by others expectations.” That’s right Heron says shhhhh, just get up, look in the mirror and be happy with who you are. You are Original, You are Unique, One of a Kind… learn to be who you are meant to be as You.

Learn to ground yourself, learn to bring balance to your OWN SACRED HOOP… by stepping carefully through the negatives and understanding your voice is good enough and your positive outlook, the positive choices we each make can make a difference in our world.

Heron brings with it the strong connection to the Great Mother Earth. It teaches us to channel that inner strength and using it to ground and remain strong in the course. Be strong and balance so that you can accomplish many things at the same time.  Heron shares with us the ability to become independent and self reliant, yet knowing when to change and adapt in life when needed. Follow your own path, not necessarily the direction that others tell you to walk. You have this, and are capable.

They teach us to be comfortable in our own being, and happy. To love self and understand we are all worthy of good and positive things. Typically they spend much time on their own, but know that it is at times better to be more social and step out of their comfort zones to add experiences and keep the balance of all things in their Sacred Hoop.

Use your steps wisely as the Heron does and take advantage of the exact moment when it is time to move in a positive motion on your path.

Spiritual and Totem Insights for the Day – the Eagle

Eagle1122 totem

Today Eagle comes to remind us all that we need to care for our Spiritual needs. That the very part of who we are and walk as begins with our Spiritual side and how we connect to the Creator and all that is Sacred. Our soul’s Light, our energy, our very foundation is all about how we feed our soul. How and what we choose as we walk our paths will then mirror out to the world and invite the same to surround us.

We must remember the foundations of Humanity… Love, Respect, Wisdom, Humility, Truth, Honesty and Courage… in order to be strong and stand in a balanced and good way. We must overcome the blindness of society and the negatives they spin. This is what Eagle shares today… this is what he reminds us to do.

So today fly high and touch the face of Creator… stand in Integrity and Truths, and stand with All that is Sacred, all that Matters… with Love and Respect that we are meant to as Human.

Eagle speaks to us of our spiritual paths. I have been taught that the Eagle can fly to the heavens, that its wings can be touched by God Creator. When in it’s presence I feel the Grace of the Creator and All that is Sacred. The Eagle humbles me.

Teaching us to reflect and pause, to rejoice and reconnect to our spirits. To honor our paths, the ethics we have been taught. To Pray, to honor to live in a sacred manner. To listen to our Ancestors that have walked before us and in doing so listen to the wisdoms that have been shared so that we can walk more positive paths. Eagles the symbol of Courage and strength, to do … to walk… the right manner. To take that courage and step into what you re meant to step to in a positive way, and allowing our spirits to soar to the heights to share in God Creator’s extended grace.

Eagles with their sharp eyesight take us to the heights to observe situations in a manner that is more beneficial for us to make clear decisions. To become that visionary and push ourselves to discover and accept self, to accept truths, adapting , changing and growing along the way.

The medicine Eagle shares is, the ability to connect to the Divine, a power of God Creator. Being able to place one foot into the spirit realm and yet remain connected and balanced with Mother Earth.

So Honor your Spirit today and everyday by connecting with the Sacredness around you!
