Spiritual Insights – the Coho Salmon Shares With Us Today

Today the Salmon is in the 7th place and tells us that if we want something in our lives… we should and need to fight for it! Don’t let things detour you from your goals. Sometimes in life we just have to work and push through the negatives and twists that life throws at us in order to achieve things. That is okay, for it is through the journey that Salmon shows us it can be done….

Just like us in the human world the Salmon run upstream against the odds to continue to thrive and exist.   That is the lesson Salmon teaches us for today… and remember you have got this whatever it may be, work hard and push through it. Life can be an amazing thing filled with adventure and positives, but only if we get off our butts and move forward.

Salmon brings with today’s lessons family values and connections with our communities and friends that are in and around our lives. Reach out and strengthen the ones that are staying, let loose with love the ones that are not, and be in the moment with those that are balanced. So today the Coho Salmon want us to listen to the little voice that resides in each of us and follow the path of positives that bring us back to our family and foundations.

Coho Salmon bring to our lives and teach us ways of abundance, fertility, prosperity and renewal of both the physical and spiritual. Guiding us with transformation, intuition, instinct, and urging us to examine your life considering any of the obstacles we may have on our paths as we walk forward.

Coho Salmon teach us that the most valuable and sacred things in life must be fought for. Although it may seem the odds are impossible and the struggles have worn you out, your needs, goals and dreams are near, and that the most resistance normally occurs just before we succeed. So do not stop and give up now. This is not time to go with the flow today… ignore what outside pressures are placing on you and go with your own intuition, follow your instincts they will not fail you.

Like the Coho Salmon we also go through several transitions throughout our lives, so remember if you are feeling stuck it may be time to transition into newness of self, leaving what is not needed anymore behind. Return to your Soul’s intent, feel the Sacred of you and honor that as you push ahead to reach your goals.

Enjoy the life we are here to live and experience, honoring the Sacred within! Our spirits have been given the energy to renew and transform…so take hold of our own power that comes from deep within our core! allow the abundance and fertility of ideas and creativity to blossom into positives your life… your path, your journey has been acknowledged and listen to the sacred from within and around your life and allow it to push you into the positive steps of life!

the story of the Snow Moon with bear Medicinewalker

I thought it was fitting since Grandmother Moon has been ever so playful of us as of late, keeping us on our toes and eyes wide open during her reign in our night skies, that I once again revisit the story of the Snow Moon. It has long been a favorite of mine and a story that delights the children as well as the child that dwells within. Yet it also holds valuable lessons of community, trust and working together. So I hope you can enjoy the story as much as I do telling and sharing it. Perhaps it will shine a little light in your life and illuminate your world to a better understanding of things….

As it was long ago and far to the north… winter nights were very long, dark and bitter cold. Nights were so long, dark and cold that all the Four Leggeds and their friends could barely gather enough food to survive the season. No matter how quickly they tried to gather nuts and seeds, the darkness covered them and stopped all their efforts. On such a day Squirrel decided that something had to be done. Her first stop would be a visit to her friends the field mice.

“Oh, we do not know what to do,” said Father Mouse. “We have so many children to feed, and the winter nights are so long and dark.”

“I will help you my little friends,” Squirrel replied.

Next Squirrel went to see Porcupine to ask him if he too had been having trouble finding food during the long dark winter.

“Oh, yes,” said Porcupine,“ nothing can be done it has always been this way.”

“I don’t believe that,” said Squirrel. “There must be something that can be done.”

“It’s best to leave things as they are for you never know what could happen if you try and change things,” said Porcupine. With a bristle of quills, he scurried off through wintery wind and snow.

Squirrel sat and thought for a bit and then decided to seek out Owl. Owl rested by day and flew the woods at night, with eyes bigger than all the other animals. Perhaps Owl would know a way to bring light to the winter forest.

Squirrel climbed high in Owl’s maple tree and waited for Owl to wake.

“What brings you to me Squirrel?” asked Owl.

“All of the small woodland animals need to hunt by darkness as well as day. The northern winter nights are far too dark for us. If we could only find a little light to help us see we could gather our food with ease”

Owl agreed to ponder on this problem. He lifted his feathery head and then buried it into his shoulders to think. He thought all day long, while Squirrel shivered on the windy branch. Finally, he startled with thought, “I will talk to the Sky Father and see if he can bring the stars closer to us during the winter time.”

Squirrel flicked her tail in excitement and hope as she raced down the tree to her spot in the woods. A few days went by and then Owl flew in and landed at Squirrel’s burrow.

“Tell our small friends that the Sky Father has decided he will bring the stars closer to us at night. But first, he must clear all the clouds from the sky. We must all prepare for a strong and terrible blizzard.” With that said, Owl flew off to his tree.

All the animals worked as quickly as they could to forage all the nuts, berries and seeds that they found. Then they gathered and huddled in a hollow log and watched as the huge storm clouds gathered in the sky above.

For three days the Sky Father gathered the storm clouds in the sky, stacking them in huge towers. The animals shivered below, waiting. On the third day, the storm arrived. The blizzard howled through the woods. The animals were frightened, all except Squirrel for she believed in what Owl had promised.
When the storm died away, a huge snowdrift had blocked the hollow log so that the animals could see nothing but the wall of snow and the darkness from inside the hollow space. They were scared and disappointed, thinking that only hunger and darkness awaited them.

Brave Little Squirrel made her way through all her friends and turned to them, “Wait here, I will tunnel out and see if the stars are closer as the Great Sky Father promised.”

Squirrel dug and dug, pushing through the cold and wet snow finally reaching the top. When her head popped out through the snow, she gasped in surprise. The winter stars hung so low in the evening sky, it seemed that she could almost touch them.

A large, antlered moose stepped forward and bowed his head, “I have been sent to help you, if you little animals can gather all the snow you can and push it into a giant snowball, I will then carry it cradled in my antlers across the highest mountain ridges, where it will shed light on even the darkest winter nights.”

So they all worked together with the help of the moose and the Sky Father to create the first Snow Moon. Now despite the cold and the long nights of darkness, all are happy in the winter when the stars come close and the moon shines bright like great snowball in the sky.

Rose Quartz the Stone of Unconditional Love

Rose Quartz is a stone that most people are aware of, it is a popular go to. But what I have found over the years it is also a stone that can also hold a great amount of healing energies. It takes to charging very simply when called upon and will actually turn to a clear quartz once it is charged. Turning back to a beautiful pink once the energy is used.

Rose Quartz is known as the stone of unconditional Love. It resonates to one’s very soul. The high energy of quartz gives rose quartz the property of enhancing love in virtually any situation. Bringing love in to life and daily situations not only brings inner warmth, but it also lowers stress and soothes those around it. Rose Quartz is also all about Self Love and balancing that acceptance we all need for us to move in positives!

It works with the heart and crown chakras and brings energy gently when it is needed. Helps with written words, creativity and unleashing imagination bringing with it balance to our lives. Pretty powerful for a little bit of stone… or big in my case. It surrounds the spaces in my home helping to keep it in attunement with life around me with a calming effect.

With that I tell you to explore and enjoy the stones and crystals you come across. Remember too that even though there is a traditional way they may be described, they can work differently for you, they are like people all have different personality and energy even among their own kind. So Have fun with the possibilities!

Blessings to You All!

Carnelian Stone of Protection and Healing

Some Carnelian from my own collection (above)
Carnelian is a stone that I have always been drawn to and used throughout my lifetime for healing and protection, it is a stone that always has worked for me. Perhaps because I am an Artist, perhaps it just works well for me on many levels. None the less it is a stone to be recognized and used for a number of things. People ask me all the time about stones and crystals I use… so I will set about in the next few weeks to give you examples of the ones you all have asked about and the ones I use in my every day life.

It enhances creativity it is also known as ‘The Artists Stone’. It also gives you confidence, motivation and the individuality needed to succeed. Its rich earthy color and grounding energy is helpful for anyone to carry.

Normal color ranges from an orange to a deep burnished reddish orange. This is one of my favorite stones and always has been. Carnelian helps with how we see and view things. It also is said to provide a link to the spiritual worlds and inspires people in positives. In ancient Egypt it was believed they offered protection in the afterlife and warded against evil spirits. Many priests and nobles were buried with this stone, which shows just how important carnelian was at the time..

It is said to protect against fear, rage and envy ( you know that green eyed monster) and helps one to release sorrow so that they are able to move forward once again. It assists one to bring about stabilization in the home and heart by cutting through things so that one can get to the truth of the matter reconnecting the emotional and inner self in a more balanced way.

Also a great stone to use to get rid of negatives for cleansing other stones/crystals and acts as a great clearing stone for people as well, dispelling negatives from our life when we keep it close. Works with the 1st thru 4th chakras. Often used on conjunction of treatments for neuralgia, allergies and kidney issues, as well as spinal and pancreatic disorders.

Is said to be one of the stones that was used in the breastplates of the High Priests, and to hold great value and energy.

With that I tell you to explore and enjoy the stones and crystals you come across. Remember too that even though there is a traditional way they may be described, they can work differently for you, they are like people all have different personality and energy even among their own kind. So Have fun with the possibilities!

Spiritual Insights for Today February 16 2021

The Gull pops up in the 7th place today to tell us energy is high but in a positive way! So we must learn to harness it for the sky is the limit! Maneuver and ride those waves to achieve what ever it is you set as goals for the day. Gull shows us the freedom of soaring high and touching the face of Creator…rising above it all to see and accomplish things that are meant for the bigger picture.

Things are clear if we just blink to clear our sight and visualize the positives. So take advantage of it today and it will trigger the law of attraction, bringing to our lives good things that will help our journey along the way!

The Gull is an amazing bird that most disregard as having purpose. Yet to understand the Gull is to respect and appreciate the bird as quite impressive. The Gull teaches us survival mode, which some situations may require us to deal with even in bad conditions or unpleasant ones in order to reach our true goals, our true dreams.

Gulls teach us to pay attention to Nature, and alert us to brewing storms that may be entering our lives. They are warriors sent by the Creator to cleanse negativity away allowing the positives to return and balance.

Gull talks about communication and how it is important to sometimes open those lines of communication in responsible ways. They also teach us to look deep at the magical world around us, for all we need is at our fingertips or deep within our souls to be able to move through in positives on our human walk.

Working with both the Elementals of Earth, Air and Water, they also teach us to be adaptable and sometimes we are called to behave and act differently under varied situations. This is okay and part of our learning how to communicate better with others and the world around us. Or perhaps they are showing us areas that we need to clean up in our own lives so that we can meet our full potential.

Spiritual and Totem Insights for August 4, 2020 the Fox

So the Red Fox shows up in the Seventh spot today…and I can’t simply make this up. The fact that Spirit has dropped this card today is some strong Medicine for sure. Fox reminds us to be patient with ourselves today. Avoid being quick to judgement, quick to react without knowing the entire picture or situation. When we act spontaneously at times… we tend to create bigger problems for ourselves. Messy problems. So today use the stealth patience of the Red Fox for when we listen we will learn more about life around us and ourselves in the process.

Whether the Fox is a Spirit Guide for us… or it is simply on the path for us all to learn from it…study it and take the lessons it offers, they are intelligent and amazing Creatures!

Fox tells us sometimes it is best to be patient watching how things unfold, observing how best to avoid negatives and dangerous situations in order to go about your own business in a better way. So be mindful as this weekend unfolds folks, for there is enough agitation and chaos already in it, we most definitely do not need to add to it!

The Fox brings us lessons on survival and adaptability, teaching us that sometimes it is best to hide in plain sight rather than to secure yourself in the shadows. To be adaptable in the pursuit of our goals, so we can accomplish what we have set out to do for the highest good.

Fox calls us to listen to that little voice we all have inside called “intuition” and trust it when it signals us to be aware of certain things as we are walking our paths. Fox also reminds us that it is okay to be alone once in awhile for it teaches us to be self reliant and independent, which makes us stronger beings able to stand in our Sacred Hoops balanced and secure.

Yet be aware and walk with open senses to the world around you so that you will not be surprised but rather prepared for what shows up on your walk. Patience is another lesson Fox brings to the table for us, patience to watch, listen and learn without movement until we can gain the knowledge needed to accomplish what we have set out to be or do. If we rely on what it is we instinctively know, it will guide us in the right direction.

Know what it is you are seeking and then reach into your toolkit that you have been provided and use what you know in positive ways to get you there.

It is not enough merely to teach the ways of our Elders. We must honor those traditions by sharing and educating the World. Inspiring others …Inspiring our Youth. Through the Music… the Arts…the stories… WE All need to become proactive in saving our planet, the creatures that live upon it, and each other

Spiritual and Totem Insights for July 16, 2020 – the Badger

So the Badger finds its way into the 7th place today to bring us messages of dealing with what is in front of you. Time to clean up your messes and get the house into order. No better time than today. Stop procrastinating and get it done! WE often will find ways to avoid things, issues, people etc… but today’s energy is all about clearing it out so new and better things can step in to play. Often we find procrastinating is easier than actually doing the work that would help us complete what is needed to be done with. But the Badger sets up to tell us we shouldn’t be having to revisit things over and over in order to learn the lessons that are there.

So today it is time to step up and simply DEAL WITH IT ALL! Let’s bring balance into our lives by sorting through things that need sorting, for truly when we think about it yeah, if we don’t they will just come back to bite us in the butt and force us to deal with the issues, people, things at a later date. SO why not simply get it over with , good…bad… or indifferent.

Badger also reminds us that guilt is a human factor that for some crazy reason even if we don’t need to hold on to it, we do. So time to release it, fix it, apologize for it…. whatever it takes to re-balance ourselves in positive manners! Badger shows up reminding us that we all must trust in our abilities utilize them to take on challenges that show up in our journeys. It is time to step away from our hiding places we have created and show the world what we are made of. Remember what is important to us and who we are as unique individuals that have a place in this world.

The message Badger brings is loud and clear… walk your own path to the beat of your own drum. Have faith in yourself and your talents and abilities. Know that you handle any challenge that shows up. Who cares what others say. Come out from hiding and start taking names and numbers. Aggressiveness and the willingness to fight for what you want in this life and that is what Badger has to teach us. Just how to temper it and apply the right kid of pressure when needed and when to make a stand. Badger teaches us to use our healing abilities to push forward in positives in life and to aggressively move the obstacles that are in our way even if we are the ones that have placed them there.

It is not enough merely to teach the ways of our Elders. We must honor those traditions by sharing and educating the World. Inspiring others …Inspiring our Youth. Through the Music… the Arts…the stories… WE All need to become proactive in saving our planet, the creatures that live upon it, and each other

Blessings to You ALL,
