The Wolf Moon and a Lunar Eclipse, Hold On It’s Gonna Be a Intense Ride!

The Wolf Moon and a Lunar Eclipse! The energy is off the charts and for those that didn’t feel it heading in towards this evenings event you might just be feeling a bit out of sorts today..  Working in a hospital setting for over 12 years, I learned what effects the Full Moon could have on people…and sometimes it can be crazy as hell.

However the Wolf Moon comes about every year at this time and has an amazing story/legend that comes with it.  So I encourage you to read it, and ponder just how it relates to things in today’s world.  Blessings to you all and I hope you can harness the energy this evening for positives in your lives!

It was a time of the Wolf Moon ( Wa Ya sv`no`yi`e`hi`nv`do), when a young Zuni Maiden was headed back to her home after gathering water from the nearby river, when the Navajo who were noted for their quick raids and fearless ways swept her up and carried her off. She silently watched as her village and fields burned and slowly became little more than a puff of smoke to her eyes. Her heart was shattered, and tears ran down her face.

They rode for what seemed like endless days and nights, with her tied tightly to the back of a horse. Every muscle on her cried out as each step of the horses hooves hit the ground. At daybreak, they came to a dwelling and she was dumped onto the ground in front of a group of Navajo Women. They helped her to her feet and took her into a nearby dwelling. She collapsed into a darkened corner and slept all day.

She was awakened by the sound of the Navajo Man as he entered and appeared before her. He reached down and pulled at her clothing. Her eyes pleaded with him, and then looked towards the other women as they reached and took their blankets and went out into the night. Thinking she had all but shed the last of her tears, more began to flow. It was to be a long night.

This continued for many days and nights until one morning she woke early to see the face of the Navajo Woman crouching near her. Gently holding out her hand she grasped the young Zuni maidens in her own. Then handing her a blanket and a pouch of food, she took her to doorway where she pointed to the rising sun. The young Zuni Maiden reached within herself and gathered all the strength she had and ran as fast as her legs could carry her. She ran through brush, over stones, through water and sand. She reached a high spot and turned to look . No one was following her. No one had found her.

Her large eyes looked out as she searched the terrain wondering where she was. The wind howled around her as she sat to rest and eat what little that she had been given and then laid down under the tree line to sleep. Pulling the blanket around her to keep her warm her body gave a small shudder, snow was beginning to fall. Soon her weary body fell into a deep sleep.

As the cold winds brewed across the lands, the sounds of paws crunching through the fresh fallen snow could be heard. Coming upon the small form of the Maiden, a White Wolf bent towards her and sniffed, its silvery blue eyes glinting in the night. Raising its head it released a howl to be sent out to the winds to its pack. The maiden woke with fear, afraid to move as the White Wolf stood over her.

Soon more wolves arrived dragging the lifeless body of a recent kill and pulling it towards the White Wolf. In turn It reached down and pulled it over to the young Maiden, covering it over her for added warmth. Then with a glance he commanded the pack to lay beside her, gently warming her body in the cold winter night. The wolf then encouraged her to eat form the kill as he nudged its share to her. She ate and her body began to replenish itself.

Soon the morning light shone through the trees, and the day looked brighter. Disheveled, and her body covered in blood, the cold biting into her skin, the Young Maiden began her journey once again to return to her village. At the end of the day, she fell exhausted to the ground. Crying out in pain and frustration as her body hit the earth. Tears once again ran down her cheeks, turning to ice before they could fall any further. Once again a howl could be heard across the winds and soon the White Wolf returned by her side. It could hardly be seen as it moved towards her, its white fur blending with the snow. Reaching again with its paws and encircling its fur and sharing its warmth with her. Looking towards the moon, letting out a howl to the pack calling to them so they could add their warmth to their young charge. Soon they all slept.

Together they traveled for four more days. At daybreak upon the fifth day, the Wolf nudged to the young Maiden and looked in the direction of a distant village. Her feet ran numb to the pain they held, as she got closer to the tiny village. Next to her keeping pace was the White Wolf. Soon she began to see some people of her village, calling out to them and waving, she yelled her name. They all stood silently watching as she approached. Her joy suddenly turned to fear as she soon saw them lifting their bows towards her and pointing them at the White Wolf that ran by her side.

“No do not shoot this White Wolf! It is my protector and has brought me home!” She stopped standing at the entrance to the village, the White Wolf quickly turned and ran back towards which way they had come. The Wolf had gone. She collapsed at the men’s feet.

They carried her to her family’s lodge and left her on the cold bare floor. They left her there without uttering a word. Lying on the floor next to her was her Mother and Father. She called out to them and they did not respond. The cold Winter’s wind screamed through the walls, swirling a dusting of snow around them all. With that she realized that the winds of life had long since left their bodies. She looked around her and the lodge was bare. She had come home to an empty place of death. She called out and no one answered. She was not a traitor to her people, she had been taken from them. She cried out in pain from a place deep within herself. Yet the people would not speak with her, and left her alone.

With the tender loving hands, she dug into the earth until her fingers were worn and bloody to reach the Yucca Root. So she could make the soap that would lovingly clean her parents and prepare them for burial. She adjusted their clothing and one by one she placed them on the tiny blanket and dragged them through the village to the place of the burial grounds. Once again the people watched, stared and said nothing. No one making an attempt to help her.

Leaving their bodies upon the Cliffs of Death, she sang the death song, chanting for their spirits to be taken to the Grandmother’s and Grandfather’s of the Sacred Directions. Lighting a small sacred fire, she then placed the burial bowls beside them with cornmeal borrowed from others to help in the souls safe journey. She then returned to her lodge. Empty as it was, it was home. Sometimes food was left at the door during the night.

The adults of the village did not speak to her, yet as days passed, the young people of the tribe would come and visit. Asking her to tell the story of the White Wolf. So she went about her simple life each moment, sharing the strength and unconditional love that was shared with her by a wolf with all children that sought her out wanting to learn. Sharing with them stories and encouraging them to relish in their freedom and spirit, and in turn becoming a teacher to them all.

Years passed and with it time brought age, age brought weakness, and soon it was time for her to leave the village and go to the place of death. In her heart she new she would never be taken, that she must take herself. She prepared herself, cleansing herself and putting on her worn leather dress.

She made her way through her door and onto the path that led to the burial site. The people watched as she crawled and pulled her frail self up the hill. Her eyes were filled with strength and dignity. She turned her head sensing something, and her ears heard a loud howling across the lands. She raised her voice and returned the howl. It was a howl of freedom that flowed from her, and as it did she transformed into that of a White Wolf. Gaining strength in her legs her eyes shone in the darkness as she ran across the hills to her freedom.

Today there is still seen a Woman with White flowing hair that stands a top White Woman Canyon even today. Having been seen to change before your eyes into a White Wolf. Helping others to find home, restore faith and find their own personal freedom. Listen to your Spirit form within you, and let it breathe and allow yourself to be who you are meant to be.

Take a Little…Give a Little… Pray a Little or Maybe Pray a Lot

So as I sat this morning to pull the 7th card from the Deck, to gain insight it struck me to my core when the Medicine Wheel fell from it before I could pull one single card. It is very fitting for the day, for the times. Many people at this moment are feeling shifts and reeling from energy that has them confused in the chaos of the world.

People who do spiritual work whether they are Clergy or Healers, Doctors or Counselors… we all have our hands full. Not only with the people that seek us out but for ourselves trying to balance and make sense out of things. Negatives are splashed all over social media, news reports and even in everyday life. People are turning on each other out of rage and hatred… compassion is slipping away and our connection to our very humanity is seemingly lost through a deep dark crevice that seems to be swallowing up everything that is good in the world whole.

Fires in Australia no words to speak over the loss of life and species that are being consumed in this angry fire that is like hell fire reigning down on the land. Politicians seeking to fill their own pockets and not caring about the people they serve. They may say they all are but not really. Neighbor against neighbor… religions against religions… fighting against the man in religion not the religion itself, for Creator and the Heavens weep at our foolishness as Mankind has forgotten how to e kind. All this and a Lunar Eclipse at the end of the week has us all in a flux. People are doubting their own convictions and paths. We are tired, we are lost, we are feeling useless.

But we must ALL remain strong… if that means we take a moment for our self, that is okay. We are all Human and we need to remember that, we need to know it is okay if we stop to take a breath, okay if we fall and need help getting back up, okay to question things for it is all part of the Human Journey. It is our human existence to push through, to fail and then learn from those failings. There is no such thing as perfect. There is only Human… and with Human there is always error and growth. Yet it is up to each of us to determine if that growth will be negative or positive. Us it is up to us… we control the outcome of how things effect us… no one else… we choose how we react to life’s chaotic moments that flow around us, no one else.

So the next time you are sitting on your phone or computer and you are set to perhaps write a nasty response… or the next time you get angry at something that occurs in or around your life… perhaps Take a Little…Give a Little… Pray a Little or Maybe Pray a Lot that things will get better, that we as a human race will learn a little more from our mistakes… that we will all learn to care a little more. That is what I pray for every day… every moment I can breathe and I hope you will all join me in that thought.

So the Circle has meant similar things to many various cultures throughout time and continues to do so. So no matter what culture we are standing in, what Spiritual Side we utilize in our lives, we are more alike than perhaps many are willing to admit.

Whether it is the Winged Ones, the Four Leggeds, the Plant People, the Crystal and Rock Keepers, the Swimmers or Creepers we all evolve together in the harmony that we were born to. The four lines in the Wheel speak to us of the four directions, the four colors to the cultures and the four parts of our human, the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual being. To understand the Medicine Wheel is to understand self.

This is what we need to understand, that the strengths, the creative, the spiritual, the faults, the imperfections all lie with in each of us. They are all part of who we are, constantly evolving. As a wheel is circular and continues in a constant state of birth to death constantly moving through change, so are we. To understand that about ourselves is how we are to attain balance.

To understand that we are All Connected that we All imprint on the world, the energy that we exist in is to understand the nature of how things co-exist. That there has to be opposites for balance…light and dark. rain and heat, night and day, birth and death… All a intricate part of the Human experience.

Ask yourself what is it that you need to day to add to the positives in your own life, what is it you need in order to set your mind to in order to keep the negative at bay? So today, look to yourself and think about how each word, each action, each breath you take is part of a bigger Hoop, then think what it is You need to do to put your own Circles into a place of balance with all that is Sacred honoring who you are meant to be.

Spiritual and Totem Insights for the Day the Badger

Today the Badger shows itself in the seventh spot as it tells us to start digging out all the crap that no longer serves us. Clean it out like a festering wound for all it will do if we do not is fester and add sickness and negativity to our lives. Which makes no sense at all when we have the ability to release it. Why should we walk forward carrying what can not be changed? Why should we walk forward carrying other peoples negatives? If we are honest with ourselves we would see it does not help us but rather hinders our own growth.

It stills our possibility to become a more powerful being. So take the time needed today and bring about balance to yourself… I guarantee you it will be a huge weight that will be unburdened from your lives.

Badger also reminds us that guilt is a human factor that for some crazy reason even if we don’t need to hold on to it, we do. So time to release it, fix it, apologize for it…. whatever it takes to re-balance ourselves in positive manners!

Badger shows up reminding us that we all must trust in our abilities utilize them to take on challenges that show up in our journeys. It is time to step away from our hiding places we have created and show the world what we are made of. Remember what is important to us and who we are as unique individuals that have a place in this world.

The message Badger brings is loud and clear… walk your own path to the beat of your own drum. Have faith in yourself and your talents and abilities. Know that you handle any challenge that shows up. Who cares what others say. Come out from hiding and start taking names and numbers.

Aggressiveness and the willingness to fight for what you want in this life and that is what Badger has to teach us. Just how to temper it and apply the right kid of pressure when needed and when to make a stand. Badger teaches us to use our healing abilities to push forward in positives in life and to aggressively move the obstacles that are in our way even if we are the ones that have placed them there.

Spiritual and Totem Insights for the Day the Clownfish

Today one of my favorite little guys shows up in the 7th spot the Clownfish! Bringing with him lessons of how to become more in tune with your surroundings. The teach us as they swim in and out of the sea anemones grasps, they learn how to work with them to both their advantages. Clownfish are the only fish that do not get stung by the tentacles of the sea anemone! They also are all born males and have a choice to become female which can give them a leadership role within their school.

Symbiosis refers to a living situation between two organisms, from which both the creatures may or may not benefit. In the case of a Clownfish and sea anemone, the symbiosis between them is beneficial for each other. So the Clownfish is telling us all to dig deep into our tool kits and use the tools we have collected along the way or where born with and use them to achieve the goals we have set for ourselves! After all we were not set up to fail… life has set us up to move forward in positives that continue for us to grow. It is by choice we set ourselves up to fail… blaming everyone but the true source, ourselves.

So fall in line, ask for help if you need it …don’t be she about it. You may just find that you have an unlikely someone in your corner poised to assist you! Today is the day… test the waters and just shoot for the moon!

The Clown Fish and Anemone fish share their spiritual guidance with us to assist us in finding and understanding wisdom, knowledge and teachings that can will help us to overcome the challenges that we face in life. The Sea Anemone is known as the flower of the ocean, yet has deadly thorns, yet the Clown Fish fearlessly takes refuge within her grasp.

Bright and vibrant in appearance the Clown Fish is widely known for its bright orange/yellow coloration and bright white stripes. Together they are a formidable pair with the use of beauty as camouflage they teach us the ability to hide within dangerous situations and to move carefully through our lives.

They teach us that things can appear as one thing and be something totally different. Do not be quick to jump to assuming the worst and make sure to watch for hidden obstacles and dangers as you tread through a given situation.   Assisting us with keeping safe from negativity.

None of us are danger proof. All of us are prone to encounter difficult situations that we should/could avoid. Sometimes it is better to move to a safe position than directly confronting something. It doesn’t show weakness, quite the opposite it shows strength of character and wisdom.

Spiritual and Totem Insights for the Day Badger

Today the Badger shows itself in the seventh spot as it tells us to stand our ground even when things seem a bit overwhelming. We can handle it, sometimes we just might have to take a breathe. Badger says bring about the changes you need to evolve into a more positive you, thus opening doorways and windows of opportunity that will propel us in the right ways by not getting caught up in all the negativity that is out in the world around us today.

Badger also speaks to checking in with allies to validate your choices when in doubt. So live life to the fullest today ad keep an eye on the prize!

Badger also reminds us that guilt is a human factor that for some crazy reason even if we don’t need to hold on to it, we do. So time to release it, fix it, apologize for it…. whatever it takes to re-balance ourselves in positive manners!

Spiritual and Totem Insights for the Day …Parrot

Today my favorite little Buddy JoJo my good friends’ the Cesario’s smart little Sun Conure Parrot stops into he seventh space this morning! It is all about being carefree and open to new possibilities today! Think outside of the box, look at things from different angles and just have some fun!

Parrot’s bring many amazing teachings with them and today’s is also about loving self and opening our hearts to others. We all have purpose and even though those purposes may be different it does not mean they are not also important to the way the world functions. So today take it all in and enjoy learning about the differences and how they an positively impact us in new and fun ways! Enjoy!!!!

So today the Parrot tells us to use our voice, our communication to reach out and learn how, remember how, feel how to be human again! My dear friends Robin and Vince Cesario have a beautiful Sun Conure Parrot… and actually the painting of JoJo is where this card was created from…and this little bird has a great lesson and that is LOVE. He is so filled with love for his human family! If only as humans we could remember that each moment of each day and set aside the ugly in our world to reconnect with the good that is in each of us.

Parrot wants us to remember is that actions, deeds, words are mimicked by those around you. What we often fail to remember is that we are responsible for setting the tone or mood for the world around us. If we are confident and pleasant… things will reflect that in our daily walks. If we are negative and bitter our world becomes shaded and chaotic… full of negatives that spread like a disease. So be mindful of the imprints we all leave on the world around us today, and be a more positive part of it not only for yourself but for others as well.

Parrot assists us in seeing that possibilities are endless as we walk the human. Sharing with us that we need to open ourselves up and communicate with the world around us. The Parrot teaches us to look at situations and opinions that are different than yours. It is all about hearing what we are listening to so that we may learn what we can accomplish, what we are capable of. To go outside of our boundaries of what we may right now consider normal. Because different, extraordinary may just be our New Normal!

Parrot brings us reminders about what is in the power of Father Sun and the healing energy that is offered. They share with us the understanding that will help balance and find harmony with all life around us. Aligning our Sacred Hoops with the pure joy and magic of all things possible.

I am bear Medicinewalker and I am dedicated to Educating and sharing the lessons, teachings and culture I have been taught by my Elders and journey with the World. It is not enough merely to learn the ways of our Elders. We must honor those traditions by sharing and educating the World. Inspiring others …Inspiring our Youth. Through the Music… the Arts…the stories…”
