Sign, sign, everywhere a sign…
Blockin’ out the scenery, breakin’ my mind
Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign?
Well I can read them and I am not one that believes in coincidences, I believe there is purpose in everything and when we become aware of it we must look at it closer! That is how the day has been thus far, so now the insights get passed on to ya’ll.
It has always been my understanding that opossum’s for the most part sorta lay low and basically go into a light hibernation during the coldest of winter months… well apparently for 55 years I was really off base cause this morning at first light outside as I lit some smudge for the day, out walked a HUGE opossum bold as all get out and came and we had a little chat, (and of course I fed him out of respect for what he shared). I thanked him and began to step back into the house when from the corner of my eye, and the smell that entered my breath, I saw a Skunk! Yes snow on the ground and wandering in and out of the brush scrounging for whatever food stuff it could find. Since their eyesight is so poor, she sniffed the air and sensed me but I gently told her to behave as I stepped further in and closed the door quickly behind me.
Now I was kind of thinking to myself, how rare it was to see one of them in the deep of winter….but two at the same time! So as I pondered I walked into the bathroom to take my shower, I reached in and turned on the water to get it hot. I then started to step in and all of a sudden a very large Wolf Spider came scrambling out of the drain! I lifted him up and into a jar and then released him under the house through the trap door for the crawlspace. After my shower I sit down and begin to shuffle the cards, and you guessed it three cards pop out of the deck…. I kid you not…. the Opossum, the Skunk and the Spider…. sooooooooooo okay I get it, I hear Yah, the Universe has a lot to share today beginning with the Opossum…
The Opossum is sharing with you to blend life today; things may not be what they appear to be so it is best to stay quiet and observe to understand the entire picture. Let it all play out so that you can see things clearer before making decisions. The universe is helping you by setting things in the correct order for you to move in positives and when you do, expect the unexpected to return to you in a good manner.
The Skunk teaches us all about RESPECT….. both giving it and receiving it. If you talk, then walk the walk and you will get the respect you deserve. But it is also saying respect the space of others, for there is always much to learn and we do not know everything there is to know. It also shares that it is time to set ego aside, don’t think your sh#t don’t stink, cause we are all the same in the ability to choose negative or positive steps in our lives, hopefully we step in positives with that truth and understanding. Be resourceful and use what is available to you, do not waste but only take what is needed to survive.
Spider teaches us about hard work, creativity and releasing ourselves from what binds us. They show us that we are the creators of our own life, our own Sacred Hoops and that like the Spider we too spin intricate webs in our life stories. So as the Spider is a masterful weaver of its web, we too must become masters of weaving strong paths in our own lives.
Spider also whispers to each of us to be careful not to get caught in the webs of shadow, greed, and negativity. When this occurs it is time to release and begin anew. Do not stay trapped, for you are in charge of your own reality, it is up to you to take charge and move in the right direction. That we must create our own path in life, and learn to be a part of the whole as we walk the human, for all things are connected, we are all one.
“The webs of our lives are all connected to the web of all that is,” Grandmother Spider shares with us, “Our individual webs are made up of stories, beliefs and our emotions that make their way out to the universe. Listen to the word “story” for to store within ourselves is a function of the story. The Universe will support our stories, just to prove to us that we are creators. So step wisely, spin positives, and create a strong Sacred Hoop”
So together the three create Strong Medicine for us today! Blend in and appreciate things, respect things, learn things… then allow them to weave and manifest into what it is you are seeking on your paths! And for Pete’s sake pay attention to the SIGNS!!!!!

Dear Bear:
This morning I received an e-mail from an animal welfare group asking me to sign a petition pertaining to a possum who had survived two arrows to the head by a disgusting human being (although that person does not deserve the title of human being or person for that matter). The possum was found by cops who brought it to a vet who saved his life. The cop stated that when they found him, not only was it still alive, it was trying to take one of the arrows out of its head. It is no coincidence that this tough little critter wound up in your cards today. As for the skunk, he does command respect whether we like it or not, and yes, I am going to have to take note of what I am telling myself, as there is no doubt that what story I weave between my ears can and do have negative effects. I am starting to get that. I have to take the next step and remind myself daily that what goes through my own mind will bring me exactly that, so I guess I better scotch tape some positive messages on the walls to remind me to think positive thoughts in order to get positive results. Obviously, asking for help from the government in my job search has given no positive results, so I have scrounged up my accounting manuals from 2008 and am hard at work reviewing and relearning my accounting principles to help me open professional doors. I am also going to purchase an accounting software manual to learn the basics of Sage 50 so as to add to my knowledge base and prove that I am capable of motivating myself and learning new software even at 61 years of age. Employers will have to acknowledge that I am not giving in, but rather putting my dukes up to update my professional skills to be just as valuable as any other young kid on the block. One thing I’ve finally gotten through my head since last year is “If trying the same things over and over don’t work, then I better change and try new things, ’cause that’s the only way things are going to change.” Since I am attempting something positive, I’m hoping that this will vibrate with the universe and that something positive will be sent back to me.
